KILLED:Bonneville!

Alrite let me start with this....
I'm not about to bash on bonnie's or GTP's or any of the other 3800series cars...but this race is worth posting!

ok i know there are plenty of higly mod'ed GTP's/bonneville's that would hand me my ass but this is what i've came agenst so far....the one mod'd GTP i raced was drivin by a smart ass kid at woodward....we went from some stupid low speed roll as we pulled out but by 45ish the eaton was screaming in his ears as i passed from 50-60...from like a 10mph roll and then i continued to put MANY car lengths on him...he said he had a 3.4pully and 1.9rockers and intake/exhaust...farily normal things i would assume...

BUT ON TO THE REAL STORY!

so comein back from the dorm the other day headed for home a 2000ish black bonneville(non SC)comes up next to me on I-75...i dont pay any attention to it for like 2-3min while there next to me...just thought they were gonna pass on by...then shit happend.

this dumb ass swirves(sp???) tward me then honks....so i was PISSED!

so i look over and it just happens to be the two white members of G-unit in the car!...hats sideways and ALL!

so i give them the "WTF" look and he flips me off! and he buddy is like laughin at me...then they punch it... the car makes noise and barily takes off....so i drop from 5th to 4th and pace him easaly as hes floored with no problum...then i dump it in to3rd and pull limo length's on this poor fool.

so i slow down and wiate for him to pull up next to me...he never does...i slow down to 50 on the high way and he slows down and stay a few cars back...i was loveing EVERY miniute of this!

i thought it was funny......

no offense, but a gtp with rockers, a 3.4", intake and exhaust is a mid-13 second car... with PEMs a mid/low 13 second car...

but of course that is IF it has the most important mod of all, the DRIVER mod, that is what I try to tell everyone i know that has gtps, don't worry about mods UNTIL you can get your STOCK horsepower to the ground, until you can do that, you are wasting your time, there have been people reflash their pcm, add exhaust, intake, and swap the pulley and run SLOWER than stock simply because they go from a 2.2 60' to a 2.5 or worse due to the wheel spin off the line and driver error... no doubt after 95 a gtp kind of goes flat but i never race past say 100 anyway, the way i see it, real racing is from a dig and if it's not settled by a hundred, back out and call it a day...

its getting now to where in this town, I can't buy a race... everyone knows my car because I live in a fairly small town have one of 3 KNOWN modded grand prixs in this town(and have beaten both of those)... People know me either buy my tag or the sound of my car and the only people that want to race now, seem to have pretty much drag cars... Even guys that would be REALLY good races with me WON'T race, its something about losing to a family car(or their friends losing to a family car) that pisses them off... In all honesty, most of the time I will tell them straight up, its going to be a good race and a lot of the time, a lot of them would hand me my ass, but it seems no one wants to take a chance anymore, when I first started modding and was still pretty slow, yeah I could go out on a given weekend and get at least 5 races lined up, but after you start beating people, the number seems to decline very rapidly, of coure the thing that really killed that was running at the track, which I now wish i wouldn't have done, because before there was an unknown, yeah people thought it was pretty quick but there was no number to associate with how fast it is, now people who run faster at the track KNOW they are faster(yet you can't always go by that, i've been beat by people on the drag strip and turn around and beat them on the street other times)... So if I had it to do all over again, I wouldn't have ran it on the track...
