Well, depending on what year (not that it really matters, not much changed). I am assuming you are talkin F-body here. The 2002 (last year) was around 340hp and ran 0-60 at 5.2 I believe. The '99's and up were about 20 hp less but it makes little difference.

1/4 times, depending on driver should be 13.7s on up. I have friends tell me that they know somebody who has an SS that ran 12's stock, yadda yadda, but I haver never seen it.

It should be a good race with him being stock and remember, automatic in those cars (more with a shift kit), is not a bad thing lol.

uhh, guy, my brother ran a 13.42 in a BONE STOCK '99 Trans Am, geared 2.73(SS's have 3.23s)...

2.73 cars are considered the SLOWEST of the LS1's...

with just a lid, exhaust, gears and a stall, he is in the mid-12s, with NO engine mods what so ever...

even a BAD driver will run 13.7-13.8s, 13.5s is VERY common...

Pray he is bone stock and you have the run of your life, with my mods I am STILL door to door with STOCK LS1s...

98s. the bastard year of ls1 fbody (round headlights) average like 13.6 1/4 times locally (700ft elevation) 99+ average 13.1s or so.

so plastic fury... learn your fbodies.... the supposed 340hp package is the ss/ws6... whooptie do. cold air and some bilsteins! ftw! doesnt really matter.... they still all have the same motor (98- straight ls1 block, 99 25% got the ls6 block 00+ about 50% got the ls6 block) almost the same motor as the corvette. the corvette has different cam profile than the fbody... good for like 5hp or so probably...after that its the same... the ls1 makes about 335 -345hp at the crank.... depending on how the machines felt at that moment in time.

*curious george.... former fbody owner.....

The LS1's are good for lower 13s, but that is not what you typically see. I am sure the best run from your above average driver is in the 13.4-5 range, but thats their best run which does not happen all the time. I have two friends with LS1s, one has a 2002 M6 SS which ran a best of a 14.4@101mph and thats taking it to the track two times, I also know of another friend with a WS6 that ran a best of a 14.0@102mph. Now these cars are far more capable of 13s then 14s, but even a slightly below average driver will run them in the low 14s. I think the average driver puts these cars into the upper 13s, a good driver puts them into the mid 13s and a great driver puts them into the low 13s, and an amazing driver can put these cars into the 12s, but thats super rare. These of course all being the best runs, not the average runs, I ran a 13.9 in my wrx, but i don't run 13.9s every run, that was my best run, such as these times would also be the best runs.

Right info, wrong years. The LS6 wasn't available in the corvette till '01. The valvetrain was then revised on the Z06 for '02 which did NOT carry over to the F-bodies that were lucky enough to get the other LS6 parts (block and intake). The LS6 block was not in any '99 f-bodies and the most important difference between LS1 and LS6 blocks is the bulkhead passages which don't do much for you on the street. LS6 heads versus LS1 heads, now that's a different story altogether.
