redline vs vette?

well i'm gonna be going back to visit denver in a couple of months. one of my friends dads has a corvette, i think it's a 94-96...somewhere around there. it's one of the older body styles. not sure what trim it is, but it's not convertible. they are trying to set me up to race this guy. i think that i'd get smoked, what do you think? i'll have my 06 comp pck redline w/ K&N intake. as far as i know he's stock.

I'm pretty sure they are low-mid 13 sec cars. So chances are that you'll lose.

However, if they don't know anything about the redline, then it will at least surprise some people. Give it a shot and find out.

I would get get killed, and I have around 280sh whp.

now that I read that again... you say 'older' not 'last' body style.

You're still smoked... I'm going to have to investigate to see if I'd have a chance, lol (investigate = instigate)

i HIGHLY doubt it's a zr1, if it is you'll get smoked just like you would with any newer vettes, sucker's FAST

otherwise, you'll get beat, depending on what you're pushing.

they're 300 hp/340 torque. so they're meaty definitely, but you might at least be able to HANG around with him after you get traction

Ok, after doing some reasearch, there around on par with the guys with 2.5" pulleys and big injectors.
Your gonna lose most likely, but you'll suprize him either way.

if it's from a dig, the 340 tq + RWD = complete demolishing but from a roll might just stand a chance

Looks like they are good for upper 13s at 105mph or so.

Odds are it's a LT1 then. Since you're basically stock, he's gonna take you. He'll rape you at launch, but you wouldn't be too far back in a roll situation. If I'm wrong and it's an LT4, it just gets worse. If you're wrong and it's not stock, same as if it's an LT4. We really need a lot of work to keep up with modern Corvettes. The 3rd gen and 4th gen stuff with L98 or worse engines are pretty similiar is performance #'s stock.
