Pulled on an EVO

Seems like everyone w/ fast cars are out cruising around before temps get too low and cars get stored for the winter.

Finally found a good spot to find some races -- again, the names of the street will be withheld (anyone from Pittsburgh knows where I'm talking about), but you all'll get the gist. Long ass tunnel around here (1.5 mile plus), two lanes with no cross or head-on traffic. Heading back toward my house...I can either turn off before the tunnel or head straight through, if I spot a race.

Spot one I did. HIDs coming up fast to my left. And whatta ya know, it's an EVO.

Well, we both line up. I goose my throttle and the driver (my age) looks over. He says, "That one of them quicker Saturns?"

I said yes. He asked if I had any mods, and I said yes.

"Wanna go?" he asks.

I say yes.

Well, we check for any law enforcement. None. Light goes green.

He got a decent launch, but I suspect not the best. He put about a half car on me through first. I nailed it into second and pulled about a half car on him. Into third and forth, I steadily crept forward until I had maybe two car lengths. Nothing great, but hey -- can't complain. We both let off about the same time and I got a thumbs up.

Don't know his mods, or year. But I bet it was one of the first gen EVOs brought to the states, because I wouldn't have pulled on an IX like I did.

Chalk one up for the sleeper Satty!

Side note: I need an onboard camera.

Very nice. Any evo is a respectable kill, congrats. I bet the guy was surprised. That must be fun as hell running in those tunnels, no where for cops to hide.

Damn you Jon. I miss living up there now. I would always hope for a race before the tunnels and rarely got one.

I'm just waiting for them to install cameras and not tell anyone. Don't think they can do that in PA, though.

But I could eaisly hit 150+ with my raised rev limiter through there, and I've heard some of them sport bikes going through. They gotta be doing insane speeds...
