HAHAHAHA - Nice.

How is the AWD in your car? I've had many different AWD cars and they are not all the same to drive - some I love and some I hate. Isn't it front wheel drive based until it needs it? How is that to launch? Overall how do you like yours?

Lots of questions for you since I thought about one of those when I started looking again, but they were just hitting the dealers.

the launch ahhh its awsome 6k dump no slip it always needs awd with me driving you can turn the crap off so its awd all the time 8.5/10 is the rating i give it only thing i dislike its the parts/aftermarket being so high. after a few mods though its above a 9 the downpipe made it so you have power all the way to redline before it kinda fell on its face around 5k but i did the full exhaust 2 days after buyin it and intake the day i bought it. no cels with all those mods so far and more comin my biggest complaint is the usual cheap brakes causing dust they stop great but the dust sucks the roomiest car i have ever had its a blast to drive fast and huge kinda like a fat chick that can run like a cheetah you dont expect it weighing in at over 3450 with a 1/4 tank i did a race and got 1st if that helps

Sorry these last couple of posts are way off topic, but...LOL

So what kind of whp do you think you will have once you're "done" modding How is that cooled? What boost? What size turbo is on it?

Again, sorry to everyone else, but you are the first person I've talked to that has one. I really like the looks of it with it's bulging hood and the interior looked really cool.

i wont stop moddin...lol its a tmic right now stock 15.6lbs turbo is a k04.22 hitachi will be gone by next year

but i hope to be near 400whp put in a ems, fuel upgrade, big turbo i will be good

stock whp is over 240 with 280lb tq. its a heavy car but body style and interior is great and its comfy like a luxury(sp.) car should be noise level is super low clutch is tuff, stock tires suck, if you have kids this car is a bamf! plus its a car that you can drive and not have cops look at all the time until they figure out who's drivin...lol and the warranty is awsome they even cover lights i had a fog light burn out why i have no idea but they fixed it without a question. it said in the booklet they cover down to the any lightbulb so i figured why buy one sure as crap the replaced it with that type of service i cant complain

lol, you know what's even funnier, I raced him many many more times, and let me tell you, it wasn't pritty either. He's running mid to high 15's at IRP. I haven't ran mine yet, but let me just say this: if you think that the people I hang out with down here have any reason to like me because of how quick my car is, then you are very wrong (I am running easily low to mid 14's). I hang with people because they are cool, and because I think that it would be nice to learn from one another. I have learned from you guys, and I have respect for you all. If you think that the gatherings down here are not worthly, then why come down? I have raced every type of car Gangster to Hick, all usually ending with a friendly wave or gesture. I respect all people that have the dignity to look to the positive side (yes your buddy in the cav. with NITROS beat me, but like I said, I beat him too, and also I wasn't really trying do to the fact that, he wasn't giving me any signs to start the races from rolls, or stops...? you want a rematch?)... You think it's impossible for stripped out engine swapped non boosted civics to run 13 flats at IRP? Then come down here and talk crap to the huge gatherings of imports, and I promise, one will want a race. I hang to have fun, not to talk crap to squad members with the SAME DAMN CAR!

As far as AWD being garbage over 80 (or any mph for that matter) - completely ridiculous. First of all, if I dyno at XXX wheel horsepower, are you trying to tell me that the dyno pull only went to 80 mph and then shut down because it would have started to lose power? LOL C'mon - that's ridiculous. The drivetrain loss is already figured in on the dyno - that's the whole point, it tells you wheel horsepower. That's why it takes me 435 horsepower to produce 361 wheel horsepower in my Evo. If we could put that same 435 horsepower in a RL and dyno it, you will most likely have 380-390 whp because you don't have the loss of AWD, but NONE of that relates to what MPH a car is going.

The problem lies in the turbo being maxed out and can't flow any more air. It's worse stock because of the lack of tuning from the factory so they can keep it where they are comfortable, but even with tuning, there is a limit to the amount of air the turbo is rated for.
I'm sorry about that, I see that you are a very intelligent individual, and I haven't beat an evo before, nor will I with my setup because I am running something around 14.3's in the 1/4 and 0-60 in something around 5.8. Here's what you have been waiting for in coming back to this thread

Car and Driver rated our cars at this:
Issue: 02/05
EVO MR: 4.8/13.6
Issue: 09/05
ION RL: 6.0/14.6
(yes it was comp. package with: OMFG LSD!!! pwn d4ddy!!1111)

Road and Track:
Issue: 05/05
EVO MR: 4.6/13.3@105.9
Issue: 09/04
ION RL: 6.2/14.8@97.1
(omg... OMG, it was the first year, no lsd...)

Modding your car is one thing, posting is another. Yes, you can buy an 89 mustang that runs fine that will run low 14's for 2000... but hey, spend da' cash however you want because no matter what people say: "yeah im da' fastest..." BS their are faster people out there... always.

Thank you - and that is my point. Same magazine so it is at least an even comparison (I will throw in one point though - those are Evo 8's ) but as someone also said, this is the KILLS section and a modified RL or SS (at least the Pittsburgh guys I've seen) will definately take out a stock Evo from 40 or 50 mph.

You couldn't be more right on your last point...I heard that a million times from my dad when I was growing up - there is ALWAYS going to be someone faster than you!
