Well obviously the stock SS is in the bag with your mods. If the 5.0 is stock consider it a win...race him from a roll though. Take out the SUBS!!

I just dont get this race from a roll. I understand its hard to launch our cars, but racing from a roll, istn a real race IMO. Either way if its a stock 89 5.0 even from a roll you should have him with a stock car in any 1/4 mileish race.
If he is modded, wich 90 percent of them are, it would be a good race. If its a heavily modded 5.0 forget it, you would know realy quick.

I suggested racing the mustang from a roll because 5.0 owners for some reason all think they have a race car, when in fact its a slow ugly pile (hah assuming they didn't put 3 grand into it and are running in the 12 second range). So racing the mustang from a roll he wouldn't have to play catch up due to the launch and he could put the 5.0 to shame instead of just beating it. Even though if he is good at launching our cars, with his mods he should put a stock 5.0 to shame regardless.

IT DOESNT TAKE 3 grand to get a 5.0 mustang into the 12's. I owned a Cougar with the 5.0 in it. It was mid 13's for about 1800, knew several people that had that setup. Those cared weighed about a thousand more pounds to. An LX 5.0 with simple bolt on's(headers, exhaust, cold air, proper tune) is a high 13 second car right off that bat. there is no cheaper car to mod. Stock for stock though, you should eat the stang alive.

A 5.0 can be very fast. There are a TON of mods out there... not to mention blower, turbos, tuners... etc..

Hah you're all about correcting me huh? I was just guessing as I had NO idea how much it cost to mod a 5.0. All I know is, compared to most other cars, it is easy to get them into the 11's/12's with a minimal amount of money. 3 grand was just a guess.

No no dont read that as a correction. Read it more as a statement to the fact, no bad feelings intended.
