Killed an '07 WRX (NOT an STi).

It was decently quick in comparison to the RL up to around 85...then I was just wasting gas. The guy was, however, cool about it; he waved in shame and defeat. I really would have expected Subaru to be a little faster for the price you pay/AWD/Turbo 2.5 horizontally opposed engine, but I guess I was wrong.

I was just kidding. I didn't know a redline was 3 seconds faster to 100mph then the '06 WRX though.

Curb weight: 2984 lb

Zero to 60 mph: 6.1 sec
Zero to 100 mph: .16.0 sec
Zero to 130 mph: .35.9 sec

EPA fuel economy, city driving: 23 mpg
C/D-observed fuel economy: 19 mpg

Maybe you were thinking of the 02-05 WRXs they were a tad slower. Now granted people have run what 14.2s in a stock RL, but the mph is usually pretty consistant with 97mph, but at the same time people have run 13.7s in a bone stock 06 wrx with mphs in the 97s also.

It was the 05s that had a 0 to 100 in 18 seconds and the redline tested 15.6 0 to 100. They must have fixed the "wait til tommorow" turbo lag.

yeah well the 06s and up have the 2.5 motor and not the 2.0 anymore with alot more torque and a touch more hp. I wouldn't use that 18.0 number, its just as accurate as the RL review that ran a 15.3 in the 1/4 mile, its just a bad run/driver/day for that car and not a accurate representation. The 02-05 wrxs have no changes that would change the 0-100 times. Here is one i found, now the 1/4 mile and 0-60 times are below average in this review, but the 0-100 is still faster then the 18.0.

2002 SUBARU IMPREZA WRX

Vehicle type: front-engine, 4-wheel-drive, 5-passenger, 4-door sedan
Price as tested: $24,520 (base price: $24,520)
Engine type: turbocharged and intercooled DOHC 16-valve flat-4, aluminum block and heads, Subaru engine-control system with port fuel injection
Displacement 122 cu in, 1994cc
Power (SAE net) 227 bhp @ 6000 rpm
Torque (SAE net) 217 lb-ft @ 4000 rpm
Transmission 5-speed manual
Wheelbase 99.4 in
Length 173.4 in
Curb weight 3150 lb
Performance: new 40,000
Zero to 60 mph 5.9 sec
Zero to 100 mph 17.3 sec
Street start, 5-60 mph 7.4 sec
Standing 1/4-mile 14.5 sec @ 93 mph

I would say the saturn RL is about 1.5 seconds faster 0-100 then a stock 02-05 wrx, since these numbers say its 1.7 seconds slower, but seem to be slower then normal, car and driver ran a 14.1@96mph in a bone stock wrx with a 0-60 of 5.4 but that review didn't say the 0-100 times, but as far as the 06-07s go they are equal to a stock RL 0-100 in which this race was against an 07 WRX.

Hahah, well its kind of hard to figure out 0-100mph times unless your car traps at exactly 100mph in the 1/4 or you use a G-Tech or something.
