Crazy race night!

I posted this on css.net, but I though I'd post it up here too for the people who don't stray over there too often.

Last night I met up with bunch of guys from the local SRT forum. Two of them were pretty much maxed out stock turbo, one of the guys, TJ, made 298 whp on 91 octane, the other, Chase, hasn't been dyno'd yet, but based on his mods we seemed to be pretty damn close! There was another SRT with just intake and exhaust, a 350Z, a trailblazer SS, a 410 rwhp GTO, and a 2000 corvette with intake and catless exhaust. It was like 10 pm and we went out on the freeway to a completly empty portion, and just went at it! That shit was so much fun!!! DAMN, I've never gone that fast in any car before! On one of the multiple 40 rolls we did, I let off at 160 MPH!!! I raced Chase from 40 to 140. He jumped about a car ahead in start, because of his 1000 ft-lbs of torque at 2000 rpm I lost by, oh half a fender or so. If we would have raced from a 65-70 roll it would have been either dead even or I would have been slightly ahead. Just like my prediction, he had more bottom end but I had more top end. Still Tjs car was rediculously fast, but I still never got more than 1.5-2 cars back from him!!! Fuck man he raced the corvette up to 170!!!! It was so much fun! Well, at least until I over heated my blower, that kinda sucked.

Oh and all these results were on a pissed off clutch, and the MOST MILD tune I have. 15.5 degrees of timing and a low-mid 11s AFR!!!
Seriously the most fun I've had in a LONG time

P.S. Its been suggested that I also post these races from last weekend
- Mid 80s Z28 with long tubes, full exhaust, cam, others? Defeated by 1.5-2 cars from a 65 roll
- Early 90s NISSAN SKYLINE R32 GTS-T with HUGE front mount, motor swap (can't remember which one, RB20-something), exhaust, unfinished tune. Defeated by 1-1.5 cars from a 70 roll
- 2004 Pontiac GTO with exhaust, cam, and a good tune, 410 rwhp. I lost by 1.5 cars from both a 40 and a 65 roll, still not bad concidering I was racing a car with 410 rwhp!

Fun fun! Wish I could finally get my turbo and then go have some fun. Still waiting on it to be delivered to AD and then they need to ship it to me.

wow, that is one hell of a track you were at..................to be able to start at 65 and go all the way up to 150+..........

I hope to god you are smart enough not to go that fast on the street, or a highway.......instant drivers license loss.........for a long long time...

I'll admit I've done a few stupid speeds out and about before, but it's just not worth it in the end..track days FTW

or he has enough brains in his head not to drive stupid. Driving aggressivly is one thing, driving like an idiot doing 100+ on a public road, racing, thats another story. I used to drive like that a long time ago, now I value my life to much now. I have kids though, they make you grow up a little faster....

To each his own though. I just figure if the race isnt over by 70 or 80, the outcome beyone that is pointless...
