Civic SI Killed

I was crusin with my girlfriend to dinner at PF Changs tonight on Hwy 249 and a 06-07 civic SI was staying beside me romping on the gas slowing up that sort of thing for a while and his buddy in the passenger seat had his window down looking at me waving, pointing trying to get me to run so I ignored them for a while then decided enough is enough it's time to dust him. My girlfriend approved.

So I doubble clutched into 3rd (rolling 60 MPH) due to the time it took I ended up with my front at his rear wheel then it felt like a second later I started pulling on him, by the time 3 rd gear was done I probably had about 4 lengths.

He came up for a second round but I was satisfied. Eventually he floored it while I cruised.

My car is a '06 Silver Ion Redline Competition package, 100% stock straight off the show room floor with 16K miles.

Stupid Si's!

Wow a whole whopping 197hp, a good 167.45 at the wheels figuring a 15% drivetrain loss., unless they were underrated as well.....

A lightly moded 2.4L could almost walk them... they run 146-150whp.

From a dig your 2.4 would ruin him with bolt ons, but the Si's have some top end that gives N/A cars in its class a run. It would be interesting.

WTF you double clutched into third? Are you driving a Semi or something?

You won't get a 15% drivetrain loss with a manual tranny, especially fwd. It is usually under 5%. Honda rates at the crank using lenient standards. GM uses worst case scenerio (110 degree day, heat sink, ect) netting more of a whp rating.

The SI's consistantly run 180hp at the wheels with a massive 130lbs wheel torque.
