New Monte SS

Teased an older bald guy with the new Monte SS until he gave in. We took off from a light normal until he punched it about 20mph. Of course I glanced at my radar detector (it was on) and nailed it. I caught up to him but shortshifted at 60 into 3rd. From that point on it was very strange. Our front bumpers were dead even and stayed that way until he let off at about 85. I mean dead even, neither of us pulled an inch. He wouldn't look at me but I did notice him crack a grin.
And yes it was an 05 or 06 with the 5.3 ls4, I could tell by the grill. I've been wondering how I'd fare against one, now I know.

Also, a cool 99 cobra owner started working at the shop I work at. We get along well. Gave him a ride in the rl and he said he was impressed..

Actually, those things are not too fast stock, but they have some straight line potential, for sure. I wouldn't suggest anyone try and make one corner, though.

The 5.3s are High 13 second cars stock. Faster than the GTPs (now GTs) with the 3.8 and SC. As for mods they don't have much out there for them at the moment. Nice Kill.

And yea, our handling, even at it's best, is still pretty sub par.

I think littlemt ran like 15.1 or 15.2's with hers. @ like 92 or 93mph if i remember correctly. You should have pulled on him. But good race none the less.

those new ss's are really quick, they have major traction issues off the line, like we do...to much power in FWD, but besides that i have herd many stories that those things haul ass
