Stock Redline beats stock SRT-4

My 1st SRT-4 race ever in the Redline. Got 3 races with him from a dig once and from a 15mph roll twice.

1st race he made the mistake to let me floor it first from a 15mph roll. 3 cars in front by end of 3rd.

2nd race from a deadstop nothing in front of us. I took off got a 1 and half car lead with a very good launch and kept my lead pretty well. By the end of 3rd gear he was about a car behind.

3rd race from a dig again but we floor it simultaneously at about 15mph in 1st, by 2nd gear he's on my rear bumper and stays there till the end of 3rd gear.

I felt like if we kept going deep into 4th he would be by my door but the race was already over.

Stock Redline wins versus stock SRT-4. SRT-4 has ever so slightly more top end. He seemed to shift well but did not powershift which is why he lost I think.

The best part was the thumbs up and smile from the SRT-4 owner after each race LOL.

I don't think spooling was the issue. I always said it was a driver's race between the SRT-4s and us. Some people make it sound like a stock SRT-4 kills us. They really don't unless they are modded.

I've beat one SRT-4 and kept even with another all while running my old tune with 200ish WHP. So it's a definite drivers race.

nice kills.. Ive seen a few around lately so i might get a chance to run with one.. I was a little scared before i read this post, because i hear a lot of people saying we get owned by an srt-4 in a drag stock for stock... this will atleast give me a little confidence if i ever meet up at the line with one.

A well driven SRT-4 will put us in our place. Luckily SRTs are as popular as can be, therefore many inexperienced drivers.

I really had a good chance to see how well the guy was driving the car. He did very well. I would place him above average the way he shifted. I could hear his BOV go off everytime he shifted and pulled very steady which means he was doing a good job shifting. I never let off the throttle between my shifts. FYI he was about 30 years old.

I expected him to pull on me a little because SRT-4s trap around 99mph around here usually and I trap 96-97mph.

I wanna say it was Car & Driver that did a comparo a year or two or three ago on these very two cars. Nearly door-to-door according to it. They pulled a 5.9(I think) 0-60 vs. 6 flat on the IRL and 14 flat 1/4 mile vs. 14.3 on the IRL. I didn't see the weight difference though. Both were factory stock for the shoot. I still chose my IRL!
