Track kills

well I went downt ot he local track yesterday heres a few of my kills.

Im completely stock and have only owned the car for 2 days.

06 Roush Mustang (I pulled a few cars on him immediatly then I kept the distance.) I ran a 14.8 that race.

05 Saturn Ion Redline with stage 2 - (0-60 foot I killed him then he started to slowly close the gap.)

03 WRX STI (he was running around 15.0 all day I am guessing a poor tune. Anyways I beat him and a win is a win :-)

Best time of the day was 14.7 on a completely stock car.

Love my new redline can't wait to do it some more.

ummm..............wow.................

all three of those cars I guess definetly needed the driver mod. You should have been spanked by all three of them. Actually the Mustang should have downright obliterated you. Even a stock 06 GT should have put a real hurting on you. Just goes to show what can happen at the track. My first time there, stock, first run, I ripped off a 14.7. My second run, I got excited, spun like crazy and ran a 16 something.

not bad, but I'm very suprised by the Roush and staged RL.

somehow the drivers were horrible in both. Roush should be a 13s car and Rl should be high13s low 14s, but like you said a win is a win.

If you got time slips, post up

Well for one I am on 04. For two the track conditions were horrible. What he didn't say is that I could only go half throttle in first and couldn't get on it in second until the last half of the gear. The second I tried to go full throttle in first gear i started spinning, same in second. End result....let off the throttle and try to feather my way back into it. There were problems with traction all day long, even the drag cars were losing control at HALF TRACK!! I wasn't going to ride my clutch all day because a replacement will cost me about $1600, so i'd rather suffer in times. The Roush Mustang had to have been a GT with a body kit, I didn't get to look at the interior. The kid who owned it obviously didn't know what he was doing, he was slow at the tree and missed 2nd gear on more then one occasion. We all laughed at him consistently. The best part of the day was watching the drag cars go at it, some of them running 8's. Then watching the 10 second bikes and snowmobiles.

Chris, the two runs that I had against you....you know that i spun all through second on the first one and i didn't start pulling on you until the end of the second run because again I was spinning. Everyone tried to tell you that i was spinning, but I guess you just ignored it. Don't worry, the DR's will be coming soon and then you will see the hurting that is coming your way.

Oh, and after your one tire burn outs you definately need some new tires too. You going to the meet on Monday?

alright that now makes sense.

Glad to hear the track conditions to erase the doubts.

Seriously, just after the waterbox there were pieces of the track ripping off. Like rubber peeling off from the track. They finally laid down some VHT at about halfway through it but that really didn't help much. After about 15 years of racing on that track it is definately time for resurfacing.

And I still don't remember seeing an STI. I do know I saw you line up against a WRX. Unless that guy spend an awful lot of money changing his wing for a WRX wing, rims to WRX rims and everything else to WRX instead of STI. I'm still kind of doubting that he was an STI. Regardless you whooped him. I think you did a great job, but like i said...be warned about your clutch they are expensive to replace.

IIRC the Roush Stage One mustangs are basicly a Mustang GT with a body kit. Could have been a real Roush...just not anything special.

Still though, sounds like you were beating the track and the track was beating them. We had a similar problem at LACR this weekend. I ran a 13.5 and a 13.2...but one was at 105 and the other at 107...and my best 60' was 2.2 which still doesn't take into account I was spinning past the 60' mark. The track kicked my azz but not as much as the RWD big guys. There were a number of almost accidents yesterday...so much so they shut the track down.

That's what the kid said it was, Roush stage 1. I swear he looked 12, and he was damn scared to run the guy in the Evo that is a mod on another board who came in the group with us. I ran against him when he ran his 12.8. We were dead even, i swear it......then the light turned green and we had to actually race.
