Lost to a SVT Lightning :(

Heading home from the gym today I saw a SVT lightning riding my ass...it was an older guy maybe 35-40. He had a full 3 apillar guage pod...wicked nice sounding exhaust and u could hear the s/c scream when he revved. We went from a 60mph roll..he got a jump(i forgot to down shift from 4th to 3rd) and he was about 2 cars ahead...second race was him in front of me and i was on his ass....3rd gear 60mph..he took off i took off..he stayed about 1 car away...if we went froma 40mph lined up i think i could stay even or take him barely..that truck was sweet

Those are really nice trucks. I raced a chick at the strip last summer, and won. But only because it was bracket and she broke out. She was hitting like low 14's and I think she was stock.

I see them quite often at the track I go to and they are always in the low 13s and 12s, I think with even minor mods they are in the low 13s so if this truck was modded it must have been extremely minor, you can hear the superchargers scream even on the stock ones. I think stock they run upper to mid 13s and trap 103-105mph.

It was humbling.

I was at LACR once and there was a Lightning there with a 2.3L Whipple on it like mine running 11.6...any faster and they would throw him out for no cage. LOL They'd already done it five times...once after he had hit 10s. Talk about nuts. He was a cool guy though and when I told him I had the same blower on my car he didn't believe it until he saw it. LOL

Stock they're hard to beat...modified...they can be monsters.
