11 second on pump fuel and stock engine

Took the Talon to the track to see what it could do before I put my cams and nitrous in. That is on pump fuel and a bone stock 4g63 engine running 25 psi of boost and the track conditions where horrible (no traction even for AWD).

The car suprised many since it's the 1st time I took it to that track.

11.7 @ 119 mph 1.72 60 foot 1/4 mile
7.6 @ 90 mph 1/8 mile

I'm really happy to see it could do mid 11s if the track was a little sticker. And it could do low 11s on race fuel with more boost and more timing. And I didn't even started modding the engine yet

congrats man, that has to be some serious tuning to get that much boost on pump gas, let alone that time.

Thanks ! But you can't compare a turbocharged car to the Redline.
Turbocharging is more efficient than supercharging. On top of that, my intercooler is HUGE. 24" X 12" X 4 1/2 ". The air coming into the engine is cold even at high boost. The rest is tuning and finding the sweet spot for A/F and timing.

The only reason the car couldn't make 120mph + was because the Walbro 255 l/h couldn't flow enough fuel. The car kept going between 12.5 and 13.0 a/f only in 4th gear. Which caused 2.5 deg knock and pulled about 10 deg in timing advance.

T3/T4 H-trim. The engine is bone stock , the turbo isn't.

Can you come down here and show some of these idiots what a fast talon should be like? I'm getting sick of being revved on by talons that can hardly idle and lose before 2nd gear gets going...

LOL that's the common 4g63 idle search.
Mine idles better than stock.

We have a few fast DSMs here in the region. Mine is one of the fastest now #3 I think. Soon to be #2
