well, since he hasn't told us what happened, I'll take a guess. It wasn't a gt500, it was just a shelby gt, which is in fact slow. haha.

I ran a new gt500 in my evo at the track. He was bones stock and running 12.7-12.9 all night. They are pretty fast. I can see almost staying with them for a second from a 40 roll. But a real race from a dig and it is over. I have raced two seperate ss/tc's and they are fast than the ss/sc and redline but there still slow. They do have alot of potential though and should be kicking some but soon, if they can get traction.

I would not call the new Cobalt TC slow at all. You gotta do a little more research. It pissed all over the new Lancer RA and ran a 13.9@104mph in the 1/4 which would walk an EVO from a roll, it also handles like a dream. I am not at all a fan of the looks of the car or the idea of high powered FWD cars, but its foolish to bash this car, its very capable of making a fool out of much more respected and expensive sports cars. You gotta give respect where respect is due and the new Cobalt SS is a masterpiece for the price. Here is some info for you. Wow look whats ahead of the EVO MR.

This topic has been beat to death on the evo forums, when some punk kid in a cobalt TC did a ricer flyby on an new Evo X, that the driver was still breaking it in. As far as you lighting lap post. The Evo Mr is always slower in Autox and alot slower in the 1/4 than the GSR. So to say the Evo Mr is 3/10 a second slower than a cobalt is nothing when all that could have been is a missed gear or taking a corner wrong.

The cobalt TC maybe a fast little car, but it is still a FWD car and all it will be good for is racing from a 40 roll on a back street. It probably get just as much aftermarket support as the Redline and SS/SC and people will be struggling to get into the low 12's or hell even high 12's

One more thing I don't have to do any research I have raced them in real life, not just looked up specs on the internet.
