i would think the redline would be right next to it if not passing it from a roll. about the only thing the shelby has over a stock gt is the 3.55 gears and the x-pipe

edit : is the shelby auto or stick?

those gear's and exhaust mod take's 2 TENTH'S of a second off a regular GT's 0-60. i believe there's also different spring's/shock's. maybe also lighter wheel's and fatter tires.. not 100% sure on that. they give em the FRPP add on's which is the gear change, lowering spring's and different shock's and exhaust mod IIRC and have proven to make a regular GT kinda sleeper.. i got RAPED at palmdale by an 07 regular GT with a gear change and intake/exhaust.. but his buddy with a stock 06 lost just barely.. and i took out a different crew of G35's that night.. it was good night in all.

The Evo Mr is always slower in Autox and alot slower in the 1/4 than the GSR. So to say the Evo Mr is 3/10 a second slower than a cobalt is nothing when all that could have been is a missed gear or taking a corner wrong.

The cobalt TC maybe a fast little car, but it is still a FWD car and all it will be good for is racing from a 40 roll on a back street. It probably get just as much aftermarket support as the Redline and SS/SC and people will be struggling to get into the low 12's or hell even high 12's

One more thing I don't have to do any research I have raced them in real life, not just looked up specs on the internet.
You are clueless, the new Cobalt TC is one of if not the best FWD handling cars out there. It gives exotics a run for their money around tracks and on the skidpad. If you think it can only go fast in a straight line you either came across someone who couldn't drive their Cobalt or your just making stuff up. And it could go both ways about missing a shift or taking a corner wrong. Thats stupid to even bring that up, any car could miss a shift or take a corner wrong. It ran a faster time than the EVO MR a car $10,000 more than it. You seem like the typical person that will hate a certain car no matter what or talk down to it and support a certain car far more than they should. I own a wrx and am a big fan of EVOs and cars like that. I would take an EVO any day over a Cobalt TC and I would never in my life buy a Cobalt TC and I don't like FWD, but for you to discredit the Cobalt TC is weak, its an amazing performance car for the money and it handles like a dream.

I am not disputing that it has nice performance for the price. I am saying that more than likely the cobalt TC, even with it's turbo will have the same luck as the SS/SC and redline, which is alot of limitations and no major support. Give it a year and see where the cobalt SS/TC is as far as performance progression and compare it to the progression of more expensive car (ie Evo, STI, exotics). You'll probably see thay without some internal engine work and suspension upgrades, it won't be able to hang with the Evo X. Most people dont't buy STi's and Evo's for their performance off the lot, bu there potential. They say that Mitsu sold out the new Evo to bring in a new crowd, which I think is half true. That half being the Evo X MR. It is more for DD and Mitsu's answer to Lexus and Acura.

I would agree with you as far as potential goes, but as far as stock goes its way ahead of the competition for the price.

I agree. I'm almost sad I even brought up this thread. People have gone crazy over this.
