Race tonight

At work i was set up against an old Talon Turbo. Owner of the car is going to race me but when he went to the track he had a 'better' driver race it for him and ended up with a 14.717. What do you all think are my odds, given that my shifter doesn't fall off The Talon has a stock turbo, 15 psi. Cold air intake, headers and exhaust maybe but it just sounds like a muffler. It also idles weird. Bounces. Raggidy old car.

launch well, and get into second as quickly as you can.

them dam talons can creep up on you as your halfway through third, but if you take 2nd for all its worth your lead should keep the ricer back.

btw a 14.7 on the track doesnt mean a 14.7 on the street, the same goes for you as well. I feel you could deffently win, however if they shift perfect and you dont, you could easily be OWNED

they can easily look stock and be pushing 22psi...

you never know what you'll encounter on the streets.

my friend has the older one 1st gen with intake, BOV and a full exhaust setup (down pipe header, etc) he is pushing 250+ whp stock turbo he murders me off the line AWD and from a roll he pulls... but not to hard like a stage 3 srt 4 would Cool thing is he spits a constant thing of fire when he floors it

Just got back from a long open highway...i knew i was going to win when we set up from a roll. 40mph, i got the jump slowely pulled away til about 2 car lengths then shut down. next was from about 60, stayed in third for this one but he stayed in second. He got a foot lead then when the supercharger was putting out full boost i started gaining a lot of ground. then...the 'better' driver got in the car. i thought i might lose cuz we were starting at about a 20 mph roll, first gear 4000 rpms, i feathered the throttle and slammed into second....BANG BANG CLUNK BANG...HOLY SHIT, i thought. but then looked at my left mirror and saw his car cruising with a driveshaft hanging down. The yoke split in two. pulled over, gave them a high five and what not then left. They have it on video, next time i work with him ill ask for the clip to be put on the web for all you guys to see.

There's a guy local to me with a talon,turbo, awd, all the goodies. And it's just the most pitiful looking thing, green & rusty, until you see it launch. I swear if it was rwd he could damn near lift the front tires.

When i used to have my supra i did a run with a 1st gen eclipse from a dig. Im not sure if it was a GS-T or a GSX. I got the jump off the line he had an extra passenger, by the time i shifted into third he was screaming up on me, but he had to slow down cause we were going to fast. He would have blown right past me. If he got a equal jump off the line and didn't have an extra passenger it would have been lights out for me by the time i hit 30mph. He ended up blowing his headgasket on that run and we pulled over, coolant was pouring out all over. Oh well. I also had another race with a GSX 2nd gen eclipse, he also had an extra passenger, he had at least and exhaust and boost controller. He took me by a half car off the line, but halfway through 2nd and into third i walked right on past him with no problem. My supra ran a 13.9@103mph on all seaons tires.
