Arrow Red Lines in WNY that have raced a.....

I came across this kid in a VW Jetta, I believe a 1.8T. We just played for a little bit, like from a 2nd gear roll. I come across the kid every time and it's always the same outcome, i always pull on him. We stopped at a light and he asked me if i was stock, i said yeah except for the CAI. He said that was all he had too, but he says he has beaten other Red Lines that he has raced. Said I'm the only one that pulls on him. So whats the real story guys, ever been beat by a Jetta 1.8T, or maybe no one was wasting their time? Just curious guys.

My buddy Ben had a 1.8T Jetta, and I pulled on him by quite a bit... don't they weigh more and have less power stock? How much are you pulling on him by?

Thumbs up

hes prob racing ions lol some people dont notice the front bumper or the (pops from the exhaust)

My friend has a 2.0 jetta, and a 1.8 turbo funny thing is his wife has a vr6
I beat them all 2.0 slowest! 1.8 turbo 2nd slowest and vr6 faster then them way slower than me!

The vr6 got beat from a 40mph by 2 big car lenghts before i decided to let off because i was only at a 100 so i would heave creamed him any higher!
the 1.8 turbo is really slow in begining but top end it can hit pretty nice still crushed it 2.0 my cavy stock could beat it lol

But Golf/VW's are underrated i still want a R32 or a GTI..... a 1.8 turbo with full exhaust system header back with intake and CHIP would beat us badly
that damn CHIP is good for 30 hp in a vr6 not sure about the 1.8 turbo thoe

You are right thoe VW's are boats lil tiny Heavy ass boats! if they dropped a 1000 punds we would sufffer

I'd be lying if I said I paid alot of attention to Ben's Jetta, three times or so, we left Starbucks together. Once I followed him out, passed him and left him. The other two times we got stuck at the light right out of the parking lot and had a little race, not past 60-70 though, and I know I could see his headlights behind me. It was night out everytime. So maybe a car length or less up to 60 sound right?

I raced a buddy who had a 1.8T with and intake and boost controller.

We raced to 60 mph (he had just got a ticket for speeding and was scared to go faster) and we stayed neck and neck all the way an I started to pull on him a bit right before 60 mph.

I think if I'd have been able to slap her into third I would have taken it quite easily.

Those 1.8T's can be made VERY fast really easily I hear.

The 1.8t's nothing special until you chip it.... my V6 Mustang managed to beat one w/ CAI, when I was virtually stock... he even had a better launch.

After the race... he pulled up to me and asked, "How did I beat you?"... so I asked him what he ran, and it turned out I actually had a slightly better time... and I made sure to tell him "It's a V6" ... So instead of beating a GT (which he figured I was), he actually LOST to a V6.

Conclusion.... Redline > 1.8t
