RL vs. Focus SVT with head start...

So I was on my way to Bristol, CT this morning to get my RL dyno'd...

(the graphs are in the rl general discussion section)

I stopped at a left hand turn signal to pull onto the entrance ramp of the highway. Two left hand turn lanes going to the highway. I was in the right hand lane, which ends about 500 yards after you make the turn.

I'm minding my own, a calm drive up to the dyno facility.

This dude pulls up next to me in the left lane in a little Ford Focus SVT. Good lord, those cars are ugly!

I look over at him, he looks over at me... Homeboy teenager starts revvin his gerbil wheel... And the battle begins there...

As soon as the light turns green this guy takes off like some crazed NHRA top fuel driver... I mean, I wasn't going slow, but jesus, this guy REALLY wanted to get to the lane merge before I did.

Through the left hand turn, he got about a car and a half ahead of me, having the advantage of being on the inside of the turn and getting a substantial jump on me.

Coming into the straight, I shifted into second... Everyone here who has a redline knows that second gear doesn't fook around! By the time I had shifted to third, I had already caught up and had a slight lead.

Once I shifted to third, that was all she wrote, and the only "focus" this poor sap had at that point was a clear view of my tail lights...

I was in a hurry, so I didn't slow down to see the look of disgust on his face... Needless to say, he got owned, and the RL made it to the lane merge by a couple of car lengths...

The smell of victory was oh so sweet!

haha nice kill....this kid in an svt wouldnt race me cause i had a saturn. I couldnt convince him either, it was real strange.

I love when people race me to the merge. The inside lane isn't necessarily an advantage though. Sure, shorter distance, but you can go faster on the outside, esp. if you got a good suspension.

great kill man. I ran into a s/ced svt focus on 8psi and it wasnt much either. I think those cars are screwed from the start. ya know.

i think this is a bad kill,b\c a svtf is only 150ish whp, ur is 190ish. so i think that was a stupid race. that like me runing a ion stock. come on think about what u race.

ok u only beat b\c i was slipping all the way 2lbs of boost (that's almost stock). plus, "screwed" they would out perform ur car any day of the week on a real track (w\ turns) not straight and an idiot can drive straight. so dont go there. anytime u want 2 race ill be there.

but anyway u have a 2.4 s\c, i\c too and i have 2.0 s\c. look at it that way. aslo it will be taped to show all u, that a svtf not junk.

im not a ass, i just dont like poeple talkin shit about my car.

bring on a real track and ill show u what a car should handle. im going 2 the track friday. a 1/4 mile w\ lights so it all fair games.

What the hell are you talking about 2.4 s/c? last time I looked I have a 2.0 s/c under my hood. Its better to let people think your an idiot than to open your mouth and prove it.

i didnt look up ur car. someone told me they were 2.4, and i wouldnt want 2 do research on a gm.
