Played around with an 04 GTO today

Well this afternoon i was on my way to get some Mcdonalds. I was on 122 and had to stop at a redlight. It is 2 lanes. I was in the left. The right lane goes straight as well but about a little over an 1/8th mile from the stop light it curves to the right because its an on ramp for I-75. So anyways the light turns green and i just started moving like normal. I didnt even see what was next to me. Well i get up to about 20 and i see this car jump on it and get right next to me. I see its a GTO. I have never gotten to play with one and i know they can whip me right now. But anyways we are side by side at 30mph and punch it. Well this is where my car shifts from 3rd to 1st so big jump. I got the little jump on him since i started first and we went up to about 70mph and it was neck and neck. Then he had to turn off onto the ramp. I am sure if we kept going he would have caught me but it was still kinda cool. The best thing was on the complete dry pavement my car got a little sideways on the 1st to 2nd shift!!

Interesting aren't they good for low 13s at like 106mph? You would probably know better then me.

I think high 13's. I know given more room he would have whipped me. But from 30mph-70 we were dead even but i do think i got the little jump on him.

The 04s might be good for high 13s, and the 05s good for low 13s, all with good drivers. I don't know how somebody can be a bad enough driver to get a 15.25 in a 2005 though. That's what happened when I went to the strip, and went up against an '05 (in my RL). From my friends watching, they said he got a bad launch, and missed 2 gears. And in that race, I got a 14.9, beating his 15.25. It just really confuses me how a low 13 second car driven like that can get the 15.25.

The reason I say this is because a couple of the runs I made, I missed 3rd in one, 4th in another, and stopped accelerating before the finish line, and my slowest time was a 15.1. Something must have been wrong with his car, or he wasn't WOT down the track? IDK, whatever the reasons were, it was still exciting to be ahead of him the whole way. I just wish I knew what he was thinking
