Civic si

I saw this civic si with the big wing, muffler, you know the usual. It had a big ol VTEC sticker on it. LOL Like I needed to know that. Well anyways I pulled up next to him and slowed down to pace him, then I hear his lil vtec motor wind up and so I floor it instantly I pull away from a 35 mph roll. We catch the next light and I say ok here we go a dig, since I don't think the whole rolling race is really a race. The light turns green and I'm on it, Spinning my wheels like a mad man, I put a lil to much tire wet on my tires this morning, LOL needless to say he was left a car lenght by the time we got to the other side of the intersection. I cut off at about 60 and here he comes with the ricer fly by, (nope) I wait till he is almost even and punch it and I'm gone again. I get to my turn off and here he comes racer fly by with a rev I don't know what they think they are going to achieve by doing this? Why even bother race in a honda si against a eclipse gs-t? I know with spray or turbo there pretty fast but he didnt have anything obviously so why try?

Sometimes it's important to just try. Have'nt you ever went up against a car that you thought you probably shoud'nt, but you tried anyway? But honduhs, ahhh screw em.

I agree sometimes you do have to just try. I went for a BMW 530. He thought he was going to totally hand it to me but he never got a full car length on me. I know it was a loss but it's not like I got owned.

For those of you old enough to remember, Johnathan Livingston Seagull (boy did I date myself here) you just have to fly higher than all the rest.

I don't belive in racing just to race myself. I mean why race a car you know is going to smoke you? All your going to do is risk a ticket or accident for what? Just to say you got smoked I don't see the logic. Now if you have a pretty fixed up car then I could see it. I don't mess with say a cobra ,but I'll mess with a regular stang v8. I feel you though. Like I said that's just me if you like to race anything froma 87 vw bug to a viper do it.

Risk a ticket HELL!!! Speed contest in California can get the car hooked up and stored for 30 days.

23109. (a) ( )1 A person shall not engage in ( )2 a motor vehicle speed contest on a highway. As used in this section, a motor vehicle speed contest includes a motor vehicle race against another vehicle, a clock, or other timing device. For purposes of this section, an event in which the time to cover a prescribed route of more than 20 miles is measured, but where the vehicle does not exceed the speed limits, is not a speed contest.

23109.2. (a) (1) Whenever a peace officer determines that a person was engaged in any of the activities set forth in paragraph (2), the peace officer may immediately arrest and take into custody that person and may cause the removal and seizure of the motor vehicle used in that contest in accordance with Chapter 10 (commencing with Section 22650). A motor vehicle so seized may be impounded for not more than 30 days.

(2) (A) A motor vehicle speed contest, as described in subdivision (a) of Section 23109.

Plus a couple of other sections....
