Saturday Night Slayings *LONG*

This weekend I went back home to see my folks and hang out with my brother since we haven't really seen each other much in the last few months. I figured we'd go out both Friday and Saturday and I'd head back Sunday to Orlando.

Friday night was pretty much a bust while we were out. All the guys who originally had big mouths about what they ran and how slow both of us probably are didn't show for one reason or another. Couldn't get any bites either Friday no matter how much I baited, they all just ran away.

Saturday however was a bit of a different story.

Unfortunately we were not having much look with 2 cars, so we decide to drop off his at home and go back out in mine. Bottle heater and pressure was working great, once in a while I had to turn it down to keep pressure in the sweet spot, but otherwise things were fine. I armed the system to show him the 75's and he agreed that they were worlds more fun than the 50's.

Out we go onto the vast roads that make basically a large rectangle with a few curves, and a couple of hills as well. That's right folks, there are a few hills in Florida, odd isn't it?

As we're scouring the area for people hanging out we see a group at a Dunkin Donuts with a display of lights similar to the National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation display on the Griswald house, only much more ugly and far more comedic value to it. We also start discussing how a brand new blue RSX Type-S had been taunting my brother after the Probe race, and making odd faces at him. Ah, I just chalk it up to crazies, it happens.

I make a right at one of the main lights to complete the first 90 degree angle of the rectangle, and sure enough, there's mister RSX in all his flaming glory. This guy had to have been a metrosexual who was just dumped by his...his....um, well whatever he could be dating, because I'm sure no sexual preference profile wants credit for him.

I start to slowly stalk him being very easy on the throttle and I see him waving his hand awkwardly out the window and glancing back at us. I pull next to him and he rolls his eyes at my car, which is fine since after all I still look stock on the outside. We pace each other a little bit and I downshift a few times, and he just waves weirdly at us and doesn't bite. In an instance of frustration I arm the system in 3rd, break traction and rocket off, trying to get his attention (this is way out of my character to do this too, but Fruit Loop was testing my patience). Sure enough, he does the good'ol ricer fly by and acts like he is a winner of some sort. Odd but I'll let it go, he seems to be too busy putting on his eye sparkles to pay attention to a lowly Saturn anyway.

Just as I'm cruising again, I hear a blow off valve fire off 3 or 4 times from behind me, and sure enough up comes a white Civic with a carbon fiber hood and obviously a turbo kit. Frustrated still at my earlier failed attempts, I purge 3 time quickly to get his attention, and sure enough Honda dude slams on his brakes to wait for me to catch up.

We slow down to 3rd gear, but he signals to go lower (yeah good idea on that torqueless wonder), so we drop it down to 2nd and slow way down. I'm trying so hard not to grin at him but keep my cool, and decide to keep the system armed but not go WOT right away. We go on three and I let him get the jump, and a yell comes out from his car...until I roll onto the gas pedal completely. As I pull through second I fly up next to his door, and as I shift to 3rd all the people in the car go from staring to a dropped jaw as I put at least 3 cars on him in 3rd and then let off and disarm. I give him thumbs up just because I'm not a jerk-off, and he's flashing his lights at me so that I will slow down so he can catch back up.

Now you'd think, ok, there's a kill right there, that's gotta be it. But no, as I'm slowing down, I pass the afore mentioned RSX and get in front of him on the right lane. This seems too much for Pretty Boy to stand though as he flies into the right lane and stomps on his brakes to make the red light I'm already stopped at. As he pulls up, I'm talking to my brother about how quick that Civic was, and that it sounded as if it was non-vtec, but then again I could be wrong.

Then I hear it. No it can't be, nobody is that big of a jerk, right? Wrong. Fruit Basket next to me proceeds to lean out the window and tell me that my car is way too slow.

Me - "You talking about this car?"

Fruity - "Oh yeah, that thing's a pile of sh1t."

Me - "Ok then d1ckhead, tell you what, you go first then."

Honestly I think he was a little shocked about that, because when the light went green, he didn't go, but I waited too and started to roll with him. By the way, this light was at the bottom of a pretty long hill that, which was funny to me as it was, but it gets better. I let him get about 2 cars on me, and then smacked the main arming system, slightly hazing the tires in the top of 1st gear. I slam into 2nd and the tires totally break loose at full scream as I'm pulling uphill, and pulling up next to the door of the RSX. He looks over in half horror and half embarrassment to see my slow pile of rat turds reeling him in, while keeping steady wheel spin going. Shift to 3rd and pull my rear wheel to his driver side window right at the shift, and keep creeping away from him. We're still on this hill now mind you. Once I hit 4th I start putting almost 2 cars on him, and just let off as there's no point in going further. Sure enough, Tardo does a flyby yet again as he flips me off and cuts me off, and HighEnd and I are literally pissing ourselves we're laughing so hard at how disturbed this guy is now.

We head over to Steak & Shake for a quick snack and sure enough the turbo Civic hatch pulls up. He was actually pretty nice guy who knew about Green Monstah and Turrrbooo (two of our fast FL guys on sixthsphere) and a few others from the Donor Day show we held at Saturn of Port Richey. I'm not sure if he was one of the people who were trashing some of our cars, but he sure changed his tune once we talked. He really liked my car and him and his friends couldn't take their eyes off it, trying to figure out why it was so quick. It also turns out that the RSX driver hassles everyone in the area about their cars, and acts very odd in general. He also claims to be from Orlando, which I totally called BS on, though he does have the rice-tastic attitude that some have up here.

All in all a good night, and had a few laughs as well with the Honda folks.

Sorry for the length guys
