Not really a kill but.......

I don't street race so this is probably as good as it's gonna get. I was over at Pclear's place last night and we did up the welfare short ram mod so that I could meet up with a few VW guys and show off the blower whine. I rolled into Modesto and there were quite a few of'em sittin out in a parking lot bs'ing and whatnot amongst themselves. I pulled in and punched it a bit in the parking lot for a quick burst and I see a whole bunch of heads turn my way. A bunch of them kinda wander over to check out what the hell this thing is and I go about answering some questions. My friend that has a pretty modded up 03 1.8T Jetta asks if I'd take him for a spin, so I oblige, and half way through I let him get behind the wheel. He couldn't believe the power, he said that he thought they were quick but he had no idea that they pulled so hard....lol. So he's gettin on it and lovin the whine that the ghetto ram is makin, he says that he wants to dump his turbo and get a supercharger After the fun we go back and take his Jetta out for a spin, it's hittin around 16-17 psi with an occasional spike at around 19 psi. He said that we should run but said that the RL would overmatch him His car would definitely eat me up in the turns, the thing is flat as a table....no body roll whatsoever, but he admitted straight line defeat before we even had a chance......hehe. I think it would be a good race though, so maybe in a couple of weeks we'll go out somewhere secluded and see what comes of it. At the end of the night though, it was nice to get the respect of the european guys. No races but a victory none the less.

Not sure why he would scrap a turbo for a supercharger.

Body roll isn't an indicator of handling ability. If that were so, race cars wouldn't have suspensions.

I don't think that he was serious about swapping the turbo, he was just commenting on how cool he thought the sound was. I just brought up one aspect of the handling, his springs are incredible, I assure you the car handles very well......not just due to the body roll factor but a variety of modifications he has done.

It's all good. I just didn't want cvenom going out and buying the highest spring rate he could find, and ending up sliding off the road.

always watching out for the handicapped. As for the 1.8 vws they can be made to be quite the brutes on the roads. The engine can handle a ton if they tune them and not just a huge turbo.
