honda s2000

Last time I posted a kill on here, it was a srt-4 and no-one believed me except the one person who actually has an srt-4... even after I stated that I thought the guy didn't know how to drive... it's still a kill none the less.. just beat the driver, not necessarily the car. And yes, that pissed me off, and so I haven't posted since. I figure I'll try posting again, and see what kind of responce I get this time.
I'm driving done the street going 60km/h and I see this guy with really bright really white headlights coming up on me. He pulls beside me and stays even with me. I see the girl in the passenger seat hold up her fingers giving the one, two, three.. and we go. I shift to second and hear him shift down then a second later shift to an even lower gear... we stay even all through my second gear and then through half of my third gear then I start pulling away from him. When his front bumper got just past my driver door he shut down, I know cuz all of a sudden I was just gone.
I didn't really know much about what was in them things... I just knew they were sweet looking and pretty fast, so when I got home I checked it out. Base, they cost 48,000 canadian and have 240 horse.... I say that I did pretty good with a car that cost me 23,000 canadian and supposedly has 205 horse (I haven't gotten a chance to dyno it yet). I prefer to race from a stand, it's more of a true race cuz half the race is getting off the line... but I didn't have the chance with this guy.. I probably would have been playing catch up if we had got the chance.

Well a Cobalt ss owner told me he raced one a the way to a meet we were at and lost so yes it is hard to belive. You can always say it was driver skills which gave you the win. Nice kill anywyas there light cars.

If you race a s2000 from a dig and play catch up thats your bad for not knowing how to launch. Those things have negative torque, the only way they make power is buy having a 9k redline so the power finally comes at 7500 or something like that. I've raced 2 on the track and they creep up on you towards the end but never passed me.

I was just assuming by the stats I seen on the honda website that they would take us from a stand... like I said, i don't know much about them at all, and I didn't have the chance to get in a race from the line. I can launch (well, could till I was having a lil too much fun with my car and now have completely bald tires) that ain't a prob... I surprised quite a few cars back when I drove the hyundia accent, then the acura integra, and now with this.

The Hyundai Accent is probaly one of THE WORST cars ever made and should not be allowed to be sold in the US. I was driving it to a dealership to try and sell it cuz my aunt got diagnosed with MS and couldn't drive anymore and I was appauled at the crappy cars that are approved for sale in the US. That car would never fly over in Europe. But aside from that the S2k has 240 hp and I think 162lb ft torque which is retarded. Honda is lucky america is full of automotive morons that think a high rev limit is a cool way to get MaD PoWaA!

[quick thread jack] I don't know about the WORST. I drove an '02 or '03...seemed on par with a Chevy Aveo. I wouldn't want to own either, nor get in a crash in them, but for the $$$, what do you expect? I saw an '05 Accent, a few options, new on the lot for $11k or so, before any type of discounts. Dunno what one might want for that scratch.

My sister's '02 Elantra and my '04 RL...two different machines w/ two different purposes, but the actual internal build quality of the Elantra, IMHO, is better than my RL. And the Ion and Elantra are in the same class. I've driven hers a good bit. Never a rattle (unlike my squeaker), feels put together well, the switchgear feels almost Japanese. She has 70,000 miles on it, one visit for peeling paint on the side mirror. I have 11,000 miles, and have started throwing CELs Not that I don't love my RL, obviously.

And for '06? Have you seen/sat in a Sonata or Tucson? I went car shopping with my dad a few weeks back. The V6 Sonata w/ leather is amazingly well built. Near Toyota. I'd pick it over the Camry any day. Same w/ the Tucson vs. RAV-4. Hyundai has its shit together.

Sounds like you beat the driver. Those cars can be dogs if you don't pick the right gear. Nice kill.
