And I know GM makes saturn my dad works for GM. Im jus not a saturn kinda guy. However I guess you guys are right ....I didnt race a redline .....and yes a redline might beat my GT stock. Also yes if you dont believe me about the turbo kit bringing me into the 11's from stock.....look it up. Mind you they do injectors ...exauhst work ...DHP reprogram....and all the supporting mods to run a turbo. I'll find a video of a turbo'd GT beating a CO6 corvette on the quarter mile and post it for you guys. This turbo will net me near 400 HP or so at the crank. Don't believe me ...well there are GT's I know that have the kit already and they'll tell you. As for you guys beating GTP's with ease ....I still find it very ....very hard to believe. So all in all the redline has the same engine as the new s/c cobalt correct????
The Cobalt SS has the same Engine as us. We were first.

Yes the Redline has the same engine as the SS. And noone here is saying that they beat GTPs with ease. It is a good race. But alot of times we can take them. Of course depending on drivers.

Okay okay ....that makes sense then .....I agree it would be a great race and either or car could win depending on the driver. I would like to see a race between the two in person or on video. I would have my money on the GTP though Well a true car lover doesn't judge a car by the symbol on the front. A real car enthusiast knows the potential of a car and respects it for that reason.....I mean sure the GP is a grocerie getter....but it feels good to see the faces of the people you smoke who don't know its potential. Im sure it's the same when you smoke someone in an ION correct??? You know they weren't expecting that. However I think you guys should start bringing those ION's out to the tracks and making a name for them......after all us GP drivers had to make a name for our cars ....and i dunno but it seems to me every forum I visit now is comparing themselves to grand prixs.....thats gotta tell you somethin about our cars.

No one is saying that they are shit. They are great cars. But the Redlines and Colbalts just came out. Give it some time and I bet you alot of cars will be compared to ours. And as for the rest of your last post. Spoken like a true enthusiast. And that is all we are here.

Good to see things have calmed down ......I admit I rudley interupted the forum and I appologize .....as for JerryH ....he's on the GP forum I am on and he is a great guy.....Knows A hell of a lot about cars and taught me sssoo much. So please lets all jus get along And yes I agree with you that there's little to no mods out for that engine jus yet.....so I see it must be a pain jus waitin to mod and not being able to yet. Hey look at the GP....the newer ones started in 97....and there was nothin to mod with yet......but now its 2005 and we do have a lot of options but we could use some more. Look at the mustang for instance ....they have a huge advantage in modding because there's endless mods for the car. Give it some time and you guys will be rocking some nice mods also. Hey were all car enthusiast here.....we should be able to discuss cars without getting into huge arguments. A real car enthusiast can also admitt when they are beat ......and give props to the car they got beat by. Say I was to get smoked by a redline.....you know what I would do ......give the guy the thumbs up and say wow ....I never knew a saturn could do that.....and maybe pull over if possible to get a look at the engine.....unfortunatley not everyone is like that.....I have people who wont even look or acknowlege that im even there after I beat them. Some people go as far as taking great offence to losing races....those are the people who have no respect for any car but the one there driving. Which is typical RICER attitude as us GPer's would put it. however the engine you have under your hood is a great engine with great potential ...and hey you guys get to pick stick if you want ...alll our GP's are auto ....which is one thing I dont like about grand prixs......In conclusion we are all car enthusiasts and should all respect each other and the cars we drive.....I see losing a race is a way of seeing where you stand....it's not something to get all pissy over ......there's always someone faster .....you gotta remember that. Anyways good luck guys and happy modding.

So, your GP is completely stock with 205 HP and you want to challenge an Ion REDLINE to a race?

Where are you at? Once you get the turbo, yeah, you'll beat us, but bone stock and only 205 and weighing more than us? Give us your location, I'm sure we have someone nearby.

Well, it seems your attitude has changed some GP/GT.

It's the same feeling we get when we hand an unsuspecting victim their ass as you get.

I think GP's are pretty sweet rides and I definitely respect where they can be taken performance-wise. But have I beaten two of them? Yes. Can I beat them all? Hell no. I'd be a fool to think so.

Yes i agree. And don't think that just because we drive saturn's that we know nothing about cars. You would be amazed at what I have seen some saturns do.

I love all kinds of cars from my Redline to my 400+whp MR2. Oh yeah and project Cabby. Which is a 89 VW Cabby that is having a Audi TT motor(which is built) swap. Oh man will that be fun. 300hp in a car that weighs next to nothing.

When I beat that saturn ION .....I didn't know barley anything about the ION and what models there were. I figured there was only one model. So figuring I beat an ION even not being the redline. I thought it was a redline because I didn't know the different models of that specific car. However I know now that I beat the slower model....I know now that being bone stock I couldn't take a redline.
Im from Niagara Falls and I'm always up for a good race now and then. I would still race a redline if I got the chance. Hey if you know someone in my area I'll be glad to meet them and race them even if I'm gonna lose. Also when I get my turbo in I'll be glad to go again and see how the results differ.
