Car is just absolutely sick now. I was not expecting that much power. Running great. I am getting a check engine light though. :-( It came on about an hour after I left, and hasnt gone out yet.

Thats the bad part.

The good part. We met up at a bar in Michigan City with some friends of mine. This guy they know has an RX8 Manual Six speed. They have been debating for some time as to who's car is faster.

Round one. I let my buddy drive my car, I was in the passenger seat. We lined them up and when the light went green we take off. Lots of wheelspin and hop for me. The RX8 was smoking pretty good too. We absolutely left him though, I think he bounced it off the limiter several times though, although my buddy did the same in the Redline.

Round Two.

I was driving the RX8. I got what I think was a damb good launch, not too much sping and I am moving good. The redline, again being driven by my buddy, gets lots of wheelspin, hooks and is gone.

Next we go neck and neck about 30 MPH. We both drop down a gear. Now I know I was short shifting the Rx8 a little, but my buddy was also shifting the redline at 6500. The redline asbolutely left me. I know I was in the right gear because I was doing damn near 8000 RPM. The Redline was just gone. I didnt expect my car to be that much faster, it wasnt even a contest.

On a side note, the RX8 was really awesome. The interior on that car rocks, talk about quality feel compared to ours. Guess that is why it is 20000 more.

All I know is HP tune, 2.7 Pully......GOOD....

What do I do about the check engine light though? I need a scanner to check to see what it is?

Nice job man, thats funny you got to race your car in the RX8...do those thigns even feel like they are pulling?

it was funny. I mentioned to him that his car looked nice, wondered how it drove and he hands me the keys. Then he procedes to tell me to beat the tar out of it and have fun.

It really didnt feel like it pulled, just reved endlessly. It would smoke the tires pretty easily though. You could tell it handles well. The feedback from the steering wheel was fantastic. Probably the best "feel of the road" I have ever experienced in a car. Totally different from driving the redline though. In our cars there is so much torque it seems easy. In that RX8 you had to drive it hard and rev the hell out of it to get where you wanted. I do love the sound they make though being next to it. Sounds like a vacuum cleaner.

I let my dad drive it yesterday. (He ownes a 99 Transam.) He let out nicely in first, shifted to second and then stood on it. His reaction was

Thats funny because the guy that put my exhaust in last night took my car for a drive afterwards and he has a completely built 95 Trans Am (1st year for OBDII) and he had a hell of a time. He said he would definitely get himself in trouble with my car!

which tune are you guys using for his car? as far as clearing and seeing the codes the inteceptors are da shit. i wouldnt give em up for nothing.

I have had a CEL from the time I left Sp00n's house w/ the tune too. I have cleared it 3 times and it comes right back. I can't narrow it down just yet. It was a Communication 2 error I believe? Next time I will write down the #.
