Alright, we're finally going to announce the 'official' launch of the Mid-West Redline Association. After much consideration (and nearly burning my hand off) we decided on this name to be fair to those who want to participate that are out of state. I know that everyone has their own little 'cliques' in their areas, but we'd like to get everyone we can organized into this group.

This area includes, but is not limited to :

Indiana
Michigan
Illinois
Ohio
Kentucky
Iowa

Those are the places that have shown interest in joining thus far. I know our area we try to get together at least once a month and do something at least. As for those of you who are a ways away from us....plans are in the works for either a yearly or twice yearly 'regional' meeting so that we could get everyone together.

We're still working on t-shirt ideas and if you have any feel free to post them here. One idea was the Redline badge on the back of the shirt (fairly large) with the club logo over the left breast. As for a logo..that's in the works as well, but we should have something to post up to let you see what this'll look by in the next month or so.

As far as trips go we have thrown around the idea of getting as many RL's together as we can and head down to TN to the Saturn plant..even though it isn't the home of the 2.0 (I'd love to goto Germany...but I'm not foreseeing a bunch of us going there), it still has the 2.2 and other things..

Is this a redline owners only? Our little regional car gatherings have now expanded to include the Colbalts. We are well over 20 people closer to 30 now.

Plus I am moving to Colorado, but I am still interested. Technically it is mid-west right?

I love the idea, I'd definitely be down for a little travelling. I'd say we organize everything and try to have the first big meet in the spring, as it'll give me some time to get some money saved up & pray that my car makes it through the winter.

On another tangent, my good friend & I are starting up an online t-shirt business (it's kinda on the d/l for now, we're writing the business plan currently), and if we do get this stuff together and the business off the ground, I'll be happy to give everybody a good deal on shirts. Hopefully should have everything running there by the first of the year. Let me know. I'm in though.

Well..most of us around here have had bad experiences with Cobalt owners and would rather include SRT-4's than them..

As far as the shirts go, like I said, we're working on the design, but they'll be fairly RL specific..if a Chevy guy wants to wear a RL badge on his back though..I'll be more than happy to give him a shirt.

As far as you're concerned though Di you're more than welcome. I'm not trying to force you guys to attend our meetings so that's where the idea of starting different clubs in their respective areas and then trying to have a 'regional' meet at least once a year.

Anyhow..I must return to work before they notice me MIA...

This sounds great. I had a t-shirt idea. On the front say Got Plastic? and then have a big Saturn logo on the back. Sound good. Anyways let me know when the next meet is. Unfortunately I dont have a little clique in this area. As far as I know Im the only Redline owner besides the two Ive seen in Ohio. I dont even think they know about this site. If you guys want to make a site for the club let me know.

I don't think we well be excluding Cobalt SS owners, just any of them that go "it's just a slow saturn" "my car would kick its ass, I have a supercharger"... as we smokem because they have stupid 18in wheels and more fat to trim
The Logo on the back is going to be a redline logo, I think Black Ts with a dark gray border and the redline through it, on the front some sort of club specific emblem that I want made into static cling stickers for the inside of the cars. other than that if we can get enough people together a track day should be easy to do at IRP...
You guys in MI I might be up near G-RA on the 16th of December and might be able to meet up.
