Exclamation 04'STI for $13,900 good deal or scam

I came across this while doing a car search for a buddy on msn autos for a WRX STI, this came STI asking selling for $15,900 then we e-mail the person because the phone# did not work and I got an e-mail saying that the car was actually in NY but he will ship it and sell buy it now of $13,900. Hell for that price I was going to buy it specially for an 04 with only 6k miles and with a clear title. But here is the kicker, he lives in United Kingdom and he will set up an escrow account for the funds and he will deliver only after he collects the funds. That's when the fantasy stopped what a scam especially when a car like this wholesales for at least 24-25k. Anyone else ever come across something like this. I tried to copy and paste it but I could not get the actual link but you can try it by just going to www.msn.com and then going to auto then used car search then put an Indy zip code for WRX from 10k to 20k in a 150 mile radius and you will see this car.

No offense to you mate, because I know there are many others out there like you right now. But if people haven't learned by now that ANYTHING even REMOTELY like this is 10000000% a scam.... you're on the verge of being weeded out through natural selection :P

Oh and if you were honestly to go through with this at this point, I wouldn't feel sorry for you for losing 14,000 dollars. These guys have to be making a KILLING over there... I think I should start a scam like that myself bwahahha

I know that's why I am not even thinking about this anymore it has red flags everywhere. I never said I was going through with this but wanted to show it just in case someone from Indy also comes accross this also you can tell this if you read all my post. At first he made it seem like was only about 104 miles from where I lived In Indy, then he changed it to New York, Then I called him out saying that I was going to be in New York this weekend and wanted to see it personally and that's when all the England escrow B.S happened.

these scammers could be doing a 100000 x bette rjob, that's the worst part about it all, like seriously it wouldn't even be difficult. But there are 2 major flags that should immediately stop you dead in your tracks.

One, the fact this is overseas. ALWAYS a bad thing because you'll NEVER be coming across that person, that combined with the fact wouldn't you think shipping would be ridiculously expensive? Get a quote from an auto shipper sometime from the east to west coast, it's like a grand, you don't think we'd be talking a FEW thousand at LEAST to ship overseas? That would make no sense at all.

Number two branching off that idea, the price, even if it was a salvage title with problems, the car would most likely STILL be selling for more than that. How is it they're offering to pay shipping on top of that, on a PERFECTLY fine car, we're talking a loss of like 20k on the seller's part.

These guys really suck at this scamming thing. Though I have an idea on how to get these stupid little pricks back. I'm going to follow through with one of these one day and I'm goin to get their address.... then make a little trip overseas......
But yea they could be doing a 10000x better job at this if they actually thought about it all

Let's hunt his scammer ass down!

I have not ended ties yet last thing was an e-mail I recieved this morning with the whole he is in England B.S.
here is the e-mail he sent to me:

Hello,
If you want to see the car i will have to come to NY, but i don't want to make the trip unless i have a buyer for the car, so if you decide to buy the car i will come to NY and we can arrange a meeting or I can ship the car, but i will need the payment to be done before, as i don't want to make the trip in vain.I've said the car is in perfect mechanical and esthetically condition. As soon as the payment checks out I will take a plane to US and take care of things.

For safety of this transaction we will use an escrow company.
Here are the steps of the deal :
1.The Seller will open the transaction --> 2.The buyer has to make the payment to escrwo Financial Department --> 3.The Seller will receive the confirmation that the payment is done --> 4.The seller will ship the item to the buyer and he has 5 days to test check it -->5.The buyer will contact Escrow to tell them if he is satisfied or not --> 6.Escrow will release the money to the seller(in case the buyer is satisfied) and to the buyer(in case that he is not satisfied).

So,please wrote this email twice and let me know.I hope you agree with me,because I think that it is the best way to protect both(seller and buyer).
Just email me back and let me know
Thanks,
James

here is the e-mail before that one:

Dear Customer,

I must apologize for the error in the ad.The car is located in Hamilton,NY you don't worry about the shipping because the car will be shipped to your location without any extra costs because the shipping fees are included in the final price. First of all, I like to inform you that the car is in excellent running and body condition never had an accident and there are no flaws on it or any other mechanical problems. There is no lien against the car and the car has not been salvaged. It has a clear title and it will be signed and notarized in your name as soon as the payment will be completed. The buy it now price is $13,900 including shipping costs anywhere in the continental US. There are no other costs regarding this transaction. I recently moved with my family and now we are in Birmingham,United Kingdom. Since I lost my job and I didn't found one here yet,I have to sell this car as soon as possible and due to the fact that this car is an US model the price to register it here is very high, also the shipping to this place, so I've decided to sell it in US at a price that will find a buyer in a few days. You can find more info and pics at http://myimprezawrx.blogspot.com/
If you are still interested please let me know.
Thanks,
James

Tell him you'll do www.escrow.com see which one he tries to push on you, tell him you'll either do that or western union, but only one of the 2 (western union is what he will choose)
