Madison, WI area?

Hey guys, just moved here from DC and am looking to get into the local racing. I've only got a regular Ion2 QC but nonetheless am up for good times. Does anybody know of a GM / Ecotec performance place I can get mill work done?

BTW, Madison had their 2006 Auto Show. I'm going to try and do a bulk-upload of the pics and will update this thread w/ the results.

Thanks for the hospitality as I'm sure I'll see some being back in the midwest (grew up in Iowa)

What up man... I do racing all over Illinois, and Wisconsin. Circuit racing, and there's a drag strip, Union Grove, no too far from you. If you wan to go to some circuit races, I race with the Midwestern Council of Sports Car Clubs. Check 'em out, good times.

Welcome to WI.

Northern Ill. has some tracks that I'm sure Spooner could fill you in on, Union Grove WI has a drag strip, and Road America in Elkhart Lake WI has a road course that holds some public events from time to time.

If you feel like cruising the Milwaukee area, I'm about 45 min. east of you on I-94, I could show you around.

Don't worry, the crappy weather you are dealing with should be over sometime mid June. You must get out this way for Summerfest, that is, if the largest music festival in the US and tons of food and beer sounds appealing to you?

Ahhh... Summerfest, I've yet to go since I've moved back from Florida, but all my buddies go every year. We have a whole week dedicated to Summerfest and the Taste of Chicago.

My family still lives in Madison, and I visit sometimes. I'll try to remember to send a message when I'm in the area.

I checked out the website spooner - would like to chat some more about this and find out a bit more about what it all entails and what the different race-types are and whatnot. I know that I won't be competitive when first getting into it but I do have plans for Nitrous by july so hopefully that'll help my rep a bit unfortunately after moving twice in two years I don't have a whole lot of liquid 'cash' at this point.

Stock, with an intake, I took 3rd place in my second race. Beating out the season 3rd place holder. You'll be fine. Juice is a no-no on the course though. Not sure why, but it is. I promise you, that you'll be whupping on cars before you know it. All you need is a helmet and the money for the race. First one is in April, and you're MORE than welcome to join me. It's in Rockford.
