Don't remember seeing helmets, but I'll pop in. Anywhere else they might sell em? Even if I don't get my intake installed, I'm still planning on going, limp mode be damned. The car's been okay, anyway

So far alleycat said she's going. One of my friends with a Teg-R is gonna be heading up. I think it'd be a blast. Hopefully they're mostly right hand turns -- need to smoke up that passenger side front tire. It's got full tread, whereas the rest will be up after this summer
I almost didn't find one, Pep boys had them because the sell them for bikes and such... Summit or Jegs has them, Watts can order them I assume too...

Got my K&N CAI yesterday! Which means I'm installing Sat...I'll def. be heading up to North Park on Sunday.

Brain -- I'm gonna look for a helmet tomorrow or Sat. Hell, if you wanna come up and just use it, feel free. Gotta find one, though.

BTW, Josh, where'd u get your motorcycle helmet? I wonder if they'd sell any Snell approved...

...seems like finding a helmet would be easy, but I have no idea where to go, other than Pep Boys, as Spoon suggested.

hit up ebay, if you're just getting one for a casual thing just get some cheap, you should be able to find one for 50-60 bucks.

or if you prefer to do it in person, head over to a motorcycle store and buy one, i'd imagine they'd have to have one with that snell, not sure how that's different from other snells though. if you do it in person expect to pay like a 100 bucks at least though

I need one for Sunday...my intake came, as I said. So I need something to do Alleycat should be up there...you wanna come, if you have nothing better to do? lol...

I'd have to be there for registration between 830 - 930, but I don't think racing starts till after the techs look the cars over. Say, 10:30 or so.

Got the following e-mail from the organizer:

Hello,

You will need a Snell 85 or newer helmet. DOT helmets are not allowed. I am not
sure where locally to recommend. I ordered mine from www.helmetshop.com. I would
recommend an HJC CS-5 model because it is fairly low priced. You could try a
local motorcycle shop, just make sure there is a Snell 85 or newer sticker
inside of it.

Freak -- know of any local motorcycle shops? I just know of Heritage Harley Davidson, and the Honda place on 51, by the tubes...and an ATV shop a mile or so down.

Which Snell rating?? M? SA? 85 and up??? That's over 10 years older than what I can use... just get anything with a M1985 or SA85 and up, and you should be fine. I don't understand the no-DOT thing at all. I think it just means that you can't use one that is DOT approved but not Snell approved... I didn't see a single helmet that was Snell approved, but not DOT approved... Snell is a 'higher' rating than the DOT rating... IIRC...

I would think either shop will have both types of helmets... not sure though... If Harely dosen't, Honda sure as hell should...

There's a Honda one on rt 51, there's also a suzuki one as well farther down the road, one of them would have helmets, just get the cheapest one you can find.
