Seriously contemplating a ZX6RR, thoughts?

Just like she reads. I had no idea they were only $8,500 brand new... How negotiable is that price? What's insurance like? I imagine insurance is a killer...

My buddy priced his insurance on the older what was it 954RR (Honda) Full coverage was $12,000 ayear!!! He dropped it to just liability and it was under $1,000 a year!! That was a HUGE friggin drop!! ... he does have a DUI though... LOL!

Edit: BTW I've been contemplating getting an R1 or an R6... might wanna stick with the R6 for my own good (never had a "street" bike before, only dirtbikes and my dads cruiser)... and my wallet's....

WOW! The DUI doesn't help there! I'm just scoping it out right now... once I get the exhaust, and the HP Tuners stuff, I should be all set for quite a while with the Satty, other than the cams... Plus, I've always liked the ZX6... if negotiating is possible, and the price can be closer to 7k, or even a slightly used one for 6-7k, that would be awesome. I'd sign today for it!

Even if you finance? I know most places require you to have some sort of insurance for the financing company.
