My new bike...

Pictures coming soon, Yamaha FZ1. Holy fuck this thing is fast. Made a 280 hour trip in less than 3 hours .

I'm calling out all redlines in the area, especially dan!!!

jk, that'd be embarassing

I don't think there's a single car in the Pittsburgh area that could beat this bike bwahahahah (0-60 in about 3 seconds) . Not even too many bikes out there either with the mods done on it.

Congrats Freak

I'm still considering the possibilities of selling one of my others and buying a R1

280 hr trip and 3hr..thats like warp speed captain

hehe im game...soon as i get this 2.5 and 60lbers tuned in...its being pissy right now

Also I'm taking this a sign as ur never getting a redline lmao

Lastly what yr how many miles and how much...I want to get another bike this summer...I'm debating between something like a z1000 or a flat out cruiser harley, or a sport tourer...I'd really just like to enjoy the ride and have decent handling intead of being all cramped up going everywhere.

do it, the fz1 is meaty, I got it for insurance cause it was cheaper (plus I'm debating the comfort for commuting with an r1?) but the fz1 with the mods on it now is probably in line with or ever so slightly faster than an r1 and HOLY SHIT . R1 required me to probably buy comprehensive insurance cause I wouldn't wanna drop it and lose it (6-7 grand used). But yea my bike is probably just as fast if not SLIGHTLY faster than an r1 and it's freakin blast.

DO IT!!!

oh and don't buy a cbr1000, but i'm sure you probably have heard that by now?

Actually..I've rode the 1000RR and it's NOT that bad of a bike...I don't see what the big deal is about it really.

The R1 is actually fairly comfortable to me, but I promise if I get an R1 it won't stay stock

Nothing too radical..not like the 'busa..I don't need a turbo on it. I'm figuring pipe, PCIII, maybe some head work done, re-sprocket it, some weight stuff, rip the emissions off, and maybe a few other things..possibly some lightweight wheels..IMO one of the best things you can do on a bike..then suspension and brakes...Galfer wave rotors, then have the suspension done for my weight...

Sorry..got a bit lost in thought there.

2003, 7000 miles, 4600 plus a bunch of stock stuff that i'm going to sell and get it down to like 4400. nicely modded, jet kit, new shocks, adjustable pegs, 15t front sprocket, etc etc.

get a z1000 or a fz1 if that's what you're looking for. my friend has a z1000, we're going to be riding together monday and i'll let you know how his compares. very very nice looking bike, but functionality is minimal sadly. the stock windscreen is TOTALLY useless, and the gas mileage is terrible. Good riding position though, cheap insurance, and still fast.
FZ1 is quite literally an R1 that is made to be comfortable. You should check out the SV1000, they're supposed to be solid track bikes and whatnot, and I know they're comparable to the sv1000 and the fz1.

Or if you wanna go all out, get t he bike I'm getting next and beat me to it, an aprilia falco. mmmmm. a LITTLE more aggressive than the previous 3 bikes, but nice.

i dunno i've heard from a few people the riding position of the bike just sucks for street use (including the guy I bought the fz1 from, he said he was probably going to end up selling the cbr too).

Figured you wouldn't stay stock, everything you mentioned is expected and typical

'tis not really too bad man. There are some MAJOR differences between the FZ1 and the R1..one being that the R1 is FI...basically though it's a detuned R1..
