If that is an I6, get it. Those are good for 300,000Km easy(you'll have to do your own math on miles). Of course it has to be maintained but they are good. I used to have one just like it, same year but 2dr man. I miss it sooo much.

'91 and up are a little better with the HO motor but still....

In fact, let me know if you don't buy it..........

That's a lousy winter ride. Too much lift, and those tires on ice will put you off the road fast. Get a stock one with select-trac so you can run awd mode. Honestly with those 33s I wouldn't trust the bearings or u-joints. If you want that type of stuff, look for one with a Dana 44 rear. They made them but they're rare.

Agreed. Those tires on a stock drivetrain is just asking for trouble.

33s are a little big but have them siped and you'll see a big traction increase on the ice. If your not running big HP and going crazy off-road you should be OK with stock drivetrain. Just make sure you carry a beefy replacement U-joint and the tools to change it. 31s are a nice size for it and you can run stock drive all day. Also carry a fan belt. I don't know why but I went through way too many fanbelts in that thing.

One thing to check too is the coolant resevoir. They really like to crack and the system is a pressure system. Any loss of pressure and it's overheat city. The 4.0 runs very hot.

Also make sure you test the 4WD. They use a vacuum disconnect on the front (I think Ford used a similar system). The diaphram likes to go in them. When they start to go it sounds like a failing U-joint, a big clunk when it loses vacuum. If it goes, there is a company that makes a cable actuated replacement that works great. It takes some muscle to get it activated but when it's engaged you know it. It also gives you the benefit of 2WD Low.
