hummm.....

so i had to take her into the shop today because there was a couple of things that were wrong ....

1) the A/C wasnt getting that cold and the air wasnt blowing as hard as it used to.

2) the check engine light was on

and

3) while driving down the road and a stop sign was comming up and i would push in the clutch and let off the gas like normal ...... the engine would shut off but there would be power to the electronics would still work

i talked to the tech a little while ago and he said that the check engine light was a P0101/107 (cant remember) code and that the MAF was SOAKED in oil ...... but i dont use oiled filters????? ...... and that the A/C was not working correctly because of the check engine light but it was not working correctly before the light????? ..... and the shutting off we didnt get to talk about ..... so i dunno .... but im getting tired of that damn shit knob ..... i wanna get that hurst shifter .... but i gotta get a job first

so that's the new news

there is some kind of breather tube or somthing that runs from the back side of the engine, and goes into the intake right above the MAF. engine oil, not filter oil, drips from this tube directly down onto the MAF, and causes it to throw that code. clean off the MAF, clear the code and yer good to go.

You could always block off the back of the intake pipe where that nipple is and put an oil breather filter on the back of the engine where thatis.

Also, my car has just been flat out dying as well. Twice one day while waiting in line at McD's even.

Finally, if they won't fix it under warranty and you feel it should be. Tell the service manager that you need in writing from him what you have done to your car that would effect these problems. If he doesn't do this, ask for the contact information for Saturn's Regional Manager...one who represents the whole company, not a single dealership or group of ones owned by the same person.

Also, I think if it is correct, check out the Magnusson-Moss Act.

That's what I was going to say. Seems like a poor design to me, especially since the MAF is so sensitive. When I pulled my K&N Intake off to clean it there was a small pool of motor oil at the bottom of the tube. I think adding a heated MAF would pretty much take care of this problem.
