Went to the track Saturday, interesting story...

So it was really hot and really humid, couldn't see that one coming on a June night in the deep south right? Anyhow, we drive all the way out to the track to try and get some runs in and have a few laughs. I got there and just drove right up to get in line to run. Some old ass, and I mean old, truck is lined up next to me. Not the kind of old-but-I've-done-something-to-it, I mean just plain old. We get up to stage and I warm up the tires and pull forward. I'm sitting at the light waiting on this other guy to stage up. Still waiting. I take my foot off the gas and look around to see what the hell is going on with this truck, and guess what I see. They have a track official in the bed of this truck unloading all the empty beer cans from the tailgate before they'll let him run. Which he did, and pulled a mighty impressive 19.6. I love Louisiana.

The one time I lined up against a truck, they would'nt let her run because there was too much mud on her truck. And I mean it was everywhere, body, wheels, wheelwells.

don't vehicles have to be tech'd before they can run down there?

Depends on who is doing it. Mostly, they just grab your paperwork and make sure you've got long pants on. The guys on the line do the real inspections. Like make you take the empty beercans out.
