Has anyone ordered a cell phone off the net?

If so, I am with T-mobile, and I want to get a Razr. But I don't really know how that would work. Once I get it do I take it to a T-mobile shop and have them transfer stuff?

Any help would be appriciated.

TMO is a GSM network, so they're still using SIM cards. When you get the new phone, remove the SIM from your old phone and put it in the new one.

Thats it? Thats kinda what I figured, but I didn't want to go into this blind . If you know what I mean. Cause cell phones are not exactly cheap.

Wont work. I tried that since my new Cingular SLVR died, I tried putting it into my old Cincinatti Bell Phone and it wouldn't work. I still gotta get to the Cingular store and figure out what's wrong with my phone.

I've had to switch phones several times and I just had to take out my sim card and put it in the new one and I was good to go.

Mine worked just fine and I have cingular. Though if it is a cingular sim card, it won't work in the odl att phone. Vice versa, because when I got my new phone through cingular they replaced my att sim card with a cingular one.

You can't swap SIMs between carriers. A Cingular phone needs a Cingular SIM. In fact, I think Cingular went as far as to block AT&T phones/SIMs to force their newly acquired customers to upgrade and renew contracts.

But a TMO SIM will work in any TMO phone. Just for shits and giggles, I took the SIM out of my Blackberry this morning and made a few test calls w/ an i730.

I was just looking at the razr's on t-mobile's website. Apparently, I can only get one for decent price if I extend my contract for 2 years.

I will say though. I am really happy with T-mobile, I have never had bad service, and their customer service department is the best I worked with yet. . .The phone would end up being $129. Do you guys think its worth it?
