So I bought a Subaru WRX......

So I bought a Subaru WRX for my daily driver, and my Redline is now my full blown project car.. If I can just get this intercooler thing resolved.. We will be golden... Im considering calling saturn and just ordering a new intercooler and having them install it.. Instead of dealing with the idiots at the dealerships.. On the other hand my wrx has the following mods..

Its White and has 81K miles...

HKS catback exhaust
HKS BOV
Helix downpipe
APEX turbo timer
AEM cold air
Denso sprk plugs
STI short shifter
Drilled and slotted rotors
Stage 2 clutch

So.. if you buy an intercooler and pay to have it installed... and it fixes the problem... you think they'll give you a refund?

Scott, you should try Saturn of Temecula, since they are connected to SMS...they might be able to help you a little more...just a thought.

Y'all have to remember that techs are going to do what gets them paid, not what you tell them to do. Now if you agree to pay for the full diagnostic over what Saturn will not cover that's one thing. If GM says to check 2 things and compare numbers, that's all they are going to do. They are not going to get paid to pull the intake and do this and that just because the customer says so. We aren't their boss, GM is. Unless you want to foot the bill, of course.

For the 100th time, the best course of action is to tell them to compare IAT temps after running for awhile. Then let them properly fill the reservoir and recheck. The temps sound get much closer. Then you leave and drive for about a week until the coolant goes away and temps get off again. Back to the dealership to let them check it again. You can't just call and tell them, they have to see it. Then they'll pressure check the system and go from there. This is the only way. It has nothing to do with who's dealership is 'cool' or 'really great,' it comes down to who is paying for what. GM only pays certain amounts and they have to follow flow charts. You can't jump from step A to step J just because the customer has read about a problem on the internet or thinks they know what is wrong. Doesn't work that way, they have to follow the steps. Sorry, this isn't a GM thing, this is a car thing. Every brand, every manufacturer. Good luck.

I know its just your daily driver, but with those mods you should invest in a Cobb AP. You can find them used on different WRX forums, or new from different vendors but with the mods you have it will help your car tremendously. Congrats on the new purchase and good luck with getting IC problem worked out.
