I wish I could help, but the only thing I know about Trailblazers is that they are huge.

I'm not sure how it compares to the Ford Explorer, but my uncle has an Explorer with 200k miles on it and it still runs fine.

In my experience w/ GMs, it's age that kills them. Not mileage.

I've owned somewhere around 10 GM vehicles, and most of them have been high mileage (100k+.) They were all pretty reliable until the 10 yr mark, where everything started to go bad. Starters, water pumps, alternators, etc.

Well thanks.

By the way I searched online, and the only thing about trailblazers I found was something about them havign tranny problems, but most of the people said it happened between 20-30k miles.

I'd mostly agree with that except that cars kept out of the salt can go longer that 10 yrs without as many ancillary problems. I just sold the wife's 92 Riviera with original exhaust, alternator, starter, etc. The only think I replaced was the brake flex hoses due to cracking, a fan relay, and the AC no longer worked but it wasn't worth fixing. Over the years I've had far better luck with the high mileage cars I've bought than low mileage.

As for the Trailblazer I'd say if it made 80K miles its probably a good one. My uncle is retired from Central Foundry and still has some insider contacts. When the 4.2 first came out he heard that GM was replacing almost 10% of them. I'm not sure what he issue was but it must have resolved or you'd hear more about it.

Most of my cars were from SC. No salt whatsoever. They all needed the same parts replaced at the 10 yr mark as the few I bought from MD.

If memory servers, the Trailblazer is an i6 engine. IMO, that's the best small engine Chevy ever made.

All of the GM products I've had have had more trouble with mileage than age. I drive kinda hard though . I used to trade every 2 years when my cars starting having troubles, but, I've never owned a GM truck or suv. I have had some good running high mileage Fords, but, thats another story
