Inspiration for the movie "Silent Hill"

Inspiration for the movie: "Silent Hill"

http://www.offroaders.com/album/centralia/centralia.htm

This is pretty awesome, check out all the links and stuff of the place. Isn't it odd how some of the pictures of buildings actually look like ones in the movie?

A couple years after the fire started (still going today) a little boy was in his back yeard playing and a hole opened up 150ft and the boy fell to his death.

This would be awesome to go see...any guys from PA go here or know about it?

Mike

When we bought the Talon, my wife and her younger brother went there and checked it out. It was pretty cool from their stories. Regardless of if the gov't were to make money on the coal, I can't see how living their could be good for your health, or even in Ashland.

Well thats the thing, the gov't bought out the town, some people refuse to leave and still live there.

Right, I get that. I just don't think their lungs appreciate it. Also, you'd think some left-wingers would have forced them out because of the amount of polution allowing the fire to burn causes. Not much is worse than coal.

I know of it and been there several times last time was about 9years ago, from what i hear now its has about five houses in the entire town. Gov't bought the whole town and everybody that took the money gets free health care the rest of their lives.
