The other car you could have bought

What other car were you looking at when you went to buy your balt / redline?

Looking at Cobalt SS and late 90s M3...don't regret my decision one bit.

EDIT: Oh and a SRT4...realized how much those were to mod though.

LMAO! You know that had to consider some other vehicle when looking for a new car. I know I had a civic, so everything was considered better to me. I couldn't decide between an SRT4, balt, redline (test drove 3 at all different dealers), and a Type-S rsx.

I drove these:

SRT-4 (fast, bad handling)
RSX-S (smooth, a bit fast, too small backseat, too much $)
Mazda 3 hatchback (not fast, but fun and nice inside)
S2000 (at 8k rpms very fast, best handling car ever driven)
Civic Si (2004) (piece of crap all around)
RX-8 (awesome handling, very smooth, nice interior, not that fast)
Evolution (awesome all around, just too much $)

After driving all of these I thought the redline was the best bang for the buck (paid around 18,5 for a fully loaded one with rebates in 04)

Actually no, I didn't even look elsewhere. Lol.

Does that make me the Ultimate Red Line lover?

Yeah, not counting Alpha, you take the cake. He is the opposite of most car owners out there. A typical car owner hates Saturn for no reason. Simply hate the brand for whatever reason. Alpha loves only Saturn and wouldn't drive anything else.

No cause this was your first damn car...most people don't do as much hunting for their first car you would think.

My first brand new car was between a Hyundai Tiburon GT V6 6speed vs the RSX Type-S...I took the Tiburon.
