Chevy Tracker

anyone know much about a 2002 chevy tracker zr2? it's a 2.5l v6 from suzuki, well it's basically a suzuki either way. it's actually built on a truck frame with REAL 4x4, and aren't known to have many problems from what i've read. anyone know otherwise??? is it a solid engine??? as always, any help is greatly appreciated (as in the case of the Aveo)

If it is anything like the Vitara. My mother in law has one of those, flawless, it has the V6 and the 4x4 so It might be on the same platform. There were a couple of recalls and that is it. NO problems whatsoever for them, BUT you know how it goes, that bow tie is good for at least 5 trips to the service department.

actually it is a rebadged Vitara built in a plant in canada, so i think it's less likely to go. it's only got 38,000 miles on it and only had 1 weather stripping replaced, no recalls either.

so she likes it? i'm going to check it out tonight though, so i can have them run a vin check on it.

i'm hoping it to be flawless, i've read a lot of people like to off-road with them, now that would be fun!

My roommate has a newER Tracker, it's ok. I mean, there's nothing particuarly good or bad about it, and it costs about $2 to fix. For anything. Hell I can lift up the back of it while he changes his tires! Long story short, I have the Haynes manual on the car, and it covers all of the models, the title of the damn book is like 1/2 the cover. They are all basically the same car... the smaller ones are identical, and the larger ones are identical.

No... just the little 4-banger... it's oddly quick for what it is... it's so little and the gearing on it is really short... very zippy in day-to-day driving...

Yeah, the 4x is pretty rugged, I took it thourh the desert and up a mountain, worked like a champ, and that little motor is pretty knarly. It has plenty of power, granted it is the small one, not the grand vitara, the 5 not the 7 seater. What kind of waranty does it offer. I think the Suzuki has a 10 yr 100K or somthin like that?

yeah, it's probobly the 2 door convertible one, huh?

i'm guessing the v6 is probobly slower, due to being in the 4 door model, but i wouldn't mind, especially with the capability to off-road it when necessary/desired.

i can't seem to find much info about the 2.5 on the net at all, which is somewhat odd if you ask me, a lot of stuff for the 2.0 4 banger though

if i do end up with it, i'm definitely going to hack up the intake and re-do the exhaust at a minimum (exhaust changes are what got the 2.5 from ~150 or 155 to 165 in the grand vitara)

Look at you... already got the mod list starting for a Suzuki!

Must be easy when you got $6,000 worth of intake money! Of course I kid!
