subaru legacy 2.5 gt stage 2 1/2?

So I went out cruising Saturday and came across a subaru that was debadged otherwise.

It turned out to be a legacy 2.5 gt.

We went to the interstate and did a few runs... Two were the basic 40mph 2nd gear rolls and I ended up pulling by about half a car. The best one was from 25 from 1st... I got a little over enthused and with the combination of nearly bald dunlops spun bad to redline and a little in 2nd. He pulled a car on me but I gained inch by inch on him until 110 when we shut it down when I was a good hood length ahead of him.

He gave me the thumbs up and we met at a red light after we both got off at an exit. I asked him what all he had done and my jaw nearly hit the floorboard....

and I'm sure I'm forgetting a couple of things.

He didn't bother asking what I had but I'm sure he was another wtf is a redline person, and assumed half of my car was aftermarket.

My car made me proud that night... after hearing all he had done I would have never guessed I would have pulled on him every time.

If anyone knows, what the hell is stage 2 1/2 or was he just yankin my chain?

I do have video of it, but it's my friends camcorder that uses gay mini discs that have to be finalized to use. We wanted to fill the disc, and with his shitty camera work I wanted to at least have something good on it to not waste it.

That stage 2 1/2 is an Accessport device that can switch something in the ecu for a different mapping of the car. It is similar to the interceptor some RL's have. It's a Suby thing! lol

Isn't Accessport what Cobb uses to apply their ECU/Stage kits?

Keyser Soze(member here), just traded his RL in on a new Vue XR for his wife, and he just ordered an 09 Suburu Legacy GT... black with black leather, shit is gonna be sexy as hell, and i will be jealouse. its the same motor thats in the STi from what i have been told.

Close. The engine is derived from it, not the same [along with the rest of the drivetrain]

ok, thanks. When I heard him say staged I assumed us/skittle kind of stages.

I saw him run from a dig too, I would have a snowballs chance in hell keeping up with him in 1st

research xtgator's subie forester on here...its a beast!..13 second car and won the last two auto x events here in the street modified class..all on all season tires!...not bad for a station wagon..colm.

My wife just bought a 2009 Forester XT and that thing really rips for a little SUV. It has the same engine as my WRX just with an Automatic/Autostick.

IIRC, the Subaru Legacy GT Spec B is as close to an STI as you can get....
