Valve Cover Gasket change on '98 Eclipse...

Yea, this is way off normal topics, but I know some of you have some experience with an Eclipse.

I need to change the valve cover gasket on my girl's car, and the manual says that I need to change a 'semi-circular seal'. Which seem like it's part of the head. Do I need to change this item or not? No parts store that we've called has any idea of what I'm talking about. So I'm thinking it's one of those 'recommended' things. Not sure, any help would be great...

the semi circular should be included in the gasket kit. Last time I did one a few years ago mind you was in the kit and was on the side of the cams gears.

There was not one included, even checked the contents listed, and none was. Is it something that MUST be replaced?

The kit came with the long 'square' valve cover gasket, and 4 round ones for the plug holes. In the book, there's mention of this semi-circular seal. It's literally shaped like 1/2 a circle, a D shape. Maybe 1" or so wide. She was gonna call the dealership while I was at work to see if that's something she really needs, and if she could get it there. Since I haven't heard from her, for the 'Honey, I got the parts....' call, she probably hasn't...
