Yikes... that's touchy one... I was put in a VERY similar situation... my grandparents raised me. So I always refered to them as mom and dad. My actual mother told me that my real father owns/runs an automotive upholstrey shop in Rockford, IL. Said that we should go down there, get my Camaro redone and chit-chat... I declined. I decided that I already had a father and didn't need second one that didn't care for the first 25 years....

To each their own... good luck to you man. Much respect.

It's gonna be uncomfortable, I remember when I went to live with my mother after being seperated for 15 years.... just stick it out... remember, he's probably got alot of 'you' in him, and vice-versa.

1/3 are gonna hate, 1/3 are gonna be 'fake' to make you feel better, and 1/3 will accept it with an open mind. Anyone that knows he has a son, is going to have already made up their minds before you get there. The ones that haven't are going to do it the minute you setp out of the car, so be NORMAL as possible. Unless that means being hard to deal with, then tone it down. You'll be fine, it's just like any other party...

I had to meet my stepfather's family when I moved in with my mom and him, I was from Chicago, and they were strict Southern Baptists that had never left Jacksonville Fl...

Ahhhh! The blood-sucker angle! Yea, when I moved back with my grandparents, I got the same thing. From the people that had helped them raise me for fucks sake. All of a sudden, I was there for the money. What's funny though, is when my grandparents got rid of the business to my uncle and set up the aunts for life... guess where they went... who knows? Calls stopped, spur of the moment visits stopped, and guess where Sp00ner was? At the house next door, doing yardwork, helping them get things like the VCR to work, gave them a computer that I built, etc, etc, etc. Now who's the bloodsuckers? My grandparents knew what was up, and that was all that ever mattered. When my grandfater passed away this Christmas, guess who was still there, and guess who's still taking care of his grandmother everyday that he can? Ya... me....
