Alcohol severely dehydrates you, and therefore concentrates the electrolytes in your body. Because of the lack of water, your brain shrinks slightly away from your skull which is the probable cause of a headache.

Alcohol also causes a state of hypoclycemia (low blood sugar) which has side effects similar to diabetes (I know diabetics have high blood sugar, but that is because they don't have enough insulin to convert it to glycogen. Either way- not enough glycogen is being stored.) This is why you can feel sick as well as tired during your hangover.

Dainslaif- good call on the starchy foods. Starch= instantly raised blood sugar levels.

Don't drink. You will feel better, be a nicer person, and actually gain intelligence. I haven't had a drop in 6 years.

Same here, but the idea won't win much favor in this thread, lol.

I don't know if you can hear this way up on your high horse, but that's not advise. That's like if somebody asked you "how can I avoid getting the P1182 obd2 code?" and you respond with "don't drive". It's obvious you missed the whole point of the question.

Studies have shown that alcohol affects each person differently, some people get friendlier and approachable while others get mean and belligerent. So to make a specific comment ,like that above, without knowing a person is both presumptive and ignorant.

An average person with a normal amount of will power should be able to consume a moderate amount of alcohol without letting it ruin his or her life.
A weak person will avoid alcohol entirely because of the fear that even a little bit of alcohol will send them into a downward spiral to disparity.
