I'm Moving

Yep that is right. I am moving. And not just around the block or anything. No such luck. Aurora Colorado. Just outside of Denver. Looks like I will be leaving towards the end of September. My company is opening up a new office and service center there and they need people. I will actually be working directly for the pres of the company. They are paying for my move and gave me a raise. So I am off. The family is a bit sad that I will be leaving, but they understand and I am only a 4 hour plane ride away. And they need someone to mooch off of if they ever want to go to the mountains.

As for the Detroit crew. It has been a pleasure. I will keep in touch with you all thru the forum and try to meet up on my visits back. I hope there are just as many Redline owners in Denver that are great people just like the Detroit crew. I will still consider Detroit home. We will have to have a meet before I leave.

BTW. I am having logistical issues. No one has a trailer for the redline. (Uhaul etc) Apparently, the trailers they have do not accomadate 17" wheels or have the ground clearence. So looks like I am going to get a POD and just drive my baby out there myself. Unless anyone has a better idea.

yeah they are. And cheap too. They want $950 to drop off at my place while I load it, drive it to denver and then drop it off at my new place. Door to door. I have to pack it though. Renting a Uhaul is $1200, and I still have to pay for gas. So I can have them ship it and drive my car there for less than renting a uhaul and still have the problem of getting my car there. Oh, and if I need a second POD, the price only goes up to $1200.

Wow . . . well, I definitely can't blame you for wanting to further your job, but it's a shame to hear that you're going! Good luck out there, have a safe trip, and let me know when there'll be a meet, I'll be there.

Well man, it's sad to see you go, but if you must. Hopefully it'll be good times out there. You'll DEFINETELY need some winter/snow tires out there. The meets here have been fun, and it's been nice to meet you, hang out, and hear your crazy road stories. Now you'll get to see what it's like when bad things happen on the road in the mountains. That should be interesting.

Good luck out there man. We definetely need to get one more meet to happen before you leave. Are you back in MI yet? If you are, Lewis Black is tonight at Meadowbrook. I will be going, but I don't think anyone else has said they're going to make it. I've got all the time in the world in my hands for the next 3 weeks since my internship finally ended last night. So any place, any time will work for me for another meet.

jpapa, I really don't think this car was ment to drive in the rocky mountains, especcially in the winter, snow tires or not. BEsides I am getting a new 4x4 company car. woo hoo.

But like I said, Detroit is still my home. Where snow tires don't matter either. see 696 around february.
