I just use Fireworks and go "Modify" -> "Image Size" -> than set it to what I want. There are free image re-sizers on the net, and if you have the time, you can play around with Paint and the strech, skew feature (to shrink, just put numbers less than 100 in).

Right click the picture and open it with Paint.
Select Image from the top bar.
Click on Stretch/Skew.
Input the dimensions and then do Save As.

If you are using XP download and install Image Resizer

You just right click on the picture and select resize. Works awesome.

see at my work (here all the time) all my pics are resized in paint b/c they wont give us anything else on our machines. but do what drkboost said it is really easy but when you do stretch/skew you can also use %'s to make them smaller (ie 50% the size to make 1/2 the size or 150% to make it 1 1/2 times bigger.) good luck and have fun

There is a good, free, easy utility out there called "IrfanView". Works far better than paint, and dosen't cost anything. I use it at work for resizing images.

Oh yea, just search on google for it. Also, there's a program called "GIMP" that's free as well. It's more complicated than the previous one, but it has many more features. That IrfanView is VERY easy to use, it's a small program, and it's perfect for quick resizing and crap like that.

http://www.gimp.org/

There's both of 'em.
