Well FM2 is the latest AMD Fusion APU (CPU GPU hybrid) socket, and ITX is the smallest format standard for a motherboard. Currently, a FM2 ITX system would put all the necessary components for a low-end computer into the smallest package that is available without using pre-built specific components (proprietary components).
So, you can build a very small desktop computer that fits 95% of the peoples' needs on the cheap without having to use extra stuff. These are the types of computers most of my non-gamer family request. Even being a gamer myself, I tend to use more micro atx boards than full-size ones anymore. Smaller is easier to deal with in a lot of instances.
