My take on gun control.

I am getting really tired of the Liberal argument that only the Military should be able to have automatic riffles. If you read your history books, or remember what we learned in fucking 5th grade is during the American Revolution the Militia men from the time, which is defined in the American Heritage Dictionary as "an army composed of ordinary citizens rather than professional soldiers or the whole body of physically fit civilians eligible by law for military service to call for service in times of emergency", carried the "Kentucky Long Riffle". A weapon which was better than the standard issue Army regular musket. So yes, law abiding citizens of our great country should be able to own automatic riffles. Oh and according to the FBI annual crime Statistics, an AR-15 semi automatic riffle was used in 323 murders in 2011. That riffle requires a background check and you must be 18+ to buy one. A hammer was used in 496 murders in 2011, a tool that can be purchased at any hardware store, wal-mart, k-mart, target.... you name it, and there is no age restriction. I am a proud owner of an AR-15 riffle, when I lived in Midwest City OK, I was the only gun owner in my small apartment complex, and my car was the only car not broken into.........

While I agree with a lot of liberal thinking, I agree with a lot of conservative thinking, too. Very few problems are black and white.

Regardless,

Thinking logically is our best step to finding a solution to our problems.

ANY logical thinking should arrive in short measure to the conclusion below:

GUNS ARE NOT THE PROBLEM

Think with your head, not your heart. Your heart doesn't get this one.

PS-

Dood, "why would anyone need five hammers" (nope, not serious)

Well, I just seem to have collected them over the years. And thinking more about it, I think it is probably more like 9 hammers.

And BTW, I agree that the guns are not the problem, and this legislation will not make any difference in stopping the violence. All it will do is make a lot more criminals of currently law abiding citizens.

Exactly. The purpose of the second amendment is not to allow us to have firearms to hunt. It is designed to keep us arm in the situation where the government gets out of control and we need to take our country back. Liberals will never accept that because they can not understand why the government (who puts food in their mouth and shelter over their heads) would ever do something to justify a revolution.

So when a conservative explains that to them the conservative will get ridiculed for being paranoid...

You can own up to 5 hammers but they all must be limited to 12" or less.

You have one year to sell hammers after the ban goes into effect. GL!

My take on gun control.

No politician is stupid enough to think banning wepons will solve the problem of shootings. It really makes me Leary of our government to see how they are using these shootings as scapegoats to ban firearms. Using them to tug at the feelings of Americans who think with there hearts not there minds. Why does the government want to ban firearms when logically they are not the problem? The president listed statistics that 900 Americans were killed by guns since sandy hook well I want to know more about that statistic. How many of the guns were registerd and legal? How many of those were killed by an assault rifle (lol probably like 10) and how many of the victims were innocent bystanders not gang related or crime related. I am all for sollutions that help solve a problem as long as the protect the rights of the citizens at tge same time. How does it make sense to take rights away from law abiding citizens because of the actions of criminals?

How many of those were unjustifiable police shootings?

I think it is funny that we are talking about "banned hammers" instead of the more usual "ban hammer."
