Heel/Toe Poll

How many people here drive and shift using the heel/toe technique and how often do you do it?

I drive using heel and toe all of the time. My wife thinks I'm nuts but I enjoy driving that way.

(and as a side note, the RL is one of the easiest cars to heel/toe shift in I have ever driven, very good pedal placement)

Yes it is, cept I find it uses more gas (do to the engine being at higher rpm's longer intead of 1k while on the breaks). Oh well, I feel like Jeff Gordon going through a road course...cept I can smoke my tires...lol.

Jeff Gordon and road course don't belong in the same sentence, unless said road course only has left turns.

How much gas do you think we're talking about?

Well considering until Stewart came into Winston Cup/Nextel Cup, Gordon was the king of the road course (and still is one of the best which include both gordons and stewart...I don't count those guys that teams bring in just for road courses).....and I don't think much gas, but over 350km, I am sure I spend about 50kmh heel-toe braking so I guess it could add up. Iunno, I'll do a tank with heel-toe and 1 without and I'll see if I remember to inform people.

Watkins Glen is my favorite race of the season. Something fun about nascar with right turns.

I guess we don't define road course the same, but that's fine. Yeah, do the research and let us know.

Well I still like F-1 the best. Flat corners, narrow roads, open wheels, carbon fiber everything (hell, one blew his wing off his car on the straight on the US GP last year..when all the cars ran). Able to beat a F18 Raptor in a full mile race. I am VERY disappointed in the new safety rules (which I do agree, those cars need to slow down, 200kmh+ through a corner can only be so safe when you are 1 foot away from someone), but V8's, come on. Let `em keep the F/I V10's (at least they don't have "push to pass" like cart and irl).

Seems like every season they are changing the rules. I personally like American LeMans, LeMans, and the JGTC
